What shim size?
I have to rock a used Diff for my events this weekend, so i plan on shimming it. What thickness shims have you used? Looking to have it lock up hard, i could care less about longevity. Also do you have to shim both sides of the lsd, or can i just put the thrust washer on one side?
Thanks for your time

I havent done this myself but have done it with friends for their car. They just used 2 of the smallest shims available from Nissan (it was for an s13) on each side and it was extremely noticeable. Reacted more like a welded diff than any other diff I've experienced. Also the shim size probably depends on how worn the vlsd is, the more worn the fluid is the more pressure the unit needs for the fluid to have an effect.
And I would say just add equal sized shims to both sides just to be safe. But then again you only want it to last for one event right?

I used six layers.
I recomend atleast 10 or 14.
To close the case, put it in a vice and than put the screws in that lock it together. You're not going to get it shut by just popping in a screw and hammering down on it. You're going to strip the threads out.
Idk, my diff is weird. Check out my build thread and you can see all the parts that were in mine. Not the way the clutch stack is "supposed" to be assembled....... Missing 2 friction disks and i have 6 springs.........

We didn't take pics of this. Came back from the skatepark exhausted and sweaty as hell. He let me drive his integra so i took him for a ride in the 7....just playing around, nothing too crazy b/c i dont have tags. Back on topic though, just use beer cans or some kind of aluminum. Pie plates, thick *** cookie sheets....whatever you can get your hands on really.
