From the Ocean to my shop...Track.One FD build!
Yes the Ocean! Does anyone recognize/remember this car?
Check out the link...

A friend of mine bought it as a part's car for his FD project. It has a LS6, CCW's, and plenty more. I bought it from him pretty much as you see in the pictures, minus the wheels, coilovers, engine, and most of the interior. But for $750 I couldn't be happier!
Here she is back at my shop...I named her Susie.

Ear protection is important! These things are badass.

As far as my plan's for the car, well...this won't be your average FD build haha. I'm debating between a few options for the heart of the beast. I would like to put a rotary in it as that's new territory for me and I have always been a fan of the dancing triangles. Most likely a v8 will be going in though...but a high revving kinsler ITB'd V8
The new ford 5.0 or LSX...haven't decided yet.
A wheel order came in the other day and I mocked up one of the TE37sl's on the back. 18x10.5 +22 never looked so small haha. There used to be 18x13's on the back with the flares. Speaking of the flares they are being sold...I'm not feelin em.

New wheel spec's will be 18x11 +0 up front and 18x12 -33 in the rear. Think..rauh welt inspired FD...lol. I'll have more updates soon...I have a lot more chassis prep to do before fab work. Chopping the rear, cutting off the quarter panels, removing all of the glass, wiring, nuts, bolts screw's etc. I'm loving this car so much already!
I'm sure you guys are familiar with my buddy Derek's FD. It was in my shop not too long ago after his wiring got tore up drifting at the Import Alliance Summer meet this past July. Turned out the Power FC got fried so he is currently waiting on it to get back from Apexi Japan where it is being repaired.

I've been following your Garage build over on Garage Journal - great work there, can't wait see how this FD turns out with your talent!
If you don't go 13B (my spiritual choice) go the Ford - everyone does LS* and something different would be nice to see

Appreciate it man!
I want a four rotor so bad haha...one day I will have one, life goal lol. Still may do a turbo 20b....but most likely the v8 route. A destroked lsx that revs to 9k with kinsler itb's sounds way too much fun haha.

Still up in the air on the motor...time will tell! haha No worries either way...as this thing won't be like anything that's already been done.
I need to post some updates! I just got back from Road America and there were quite a few rx-7's running out there at the SCCA National Championship run-off's. Had a blast..I'll post pictures from there soon too. Shop has been undergoing some upgrades so I'll post those up as well. Hopefully I'll have some good updates on the FD soon!

I worked on this thing a bit more....I literally have had no time with running this shop by myself. Good help is hard to find.

Hadn't done much more but drop the front and rear subframe's and drained the nasty gas out. Removed the hatch, bumper and some other things. Gotta get this thing stripped down and do the rear cut soon. I need to get a light chemical dip to get the salt out of the frame rail's and anywhere else it may be hiding. Then I'll have it blasted and sent back here so I can start welding.

Also had a recent customer car come in for some work...real clean 93'.

Totally sticking this motor in the car. The all new Ford 3.5L Twin-Turbo Ecoboost engine. Watch all of the torture test video's for those that haven't seen them. I wanna do something no one has done yet

BOSS, you should do that eco boost. Im a ford tech, that engine is bad ***. I just priced a long block from my work 4600$ is cost so add 10%. That would be oil pan to valve covers, no intake no exhaust. It seems like lots of people are having good luck with boosted v6's, lots of dudes in FD have them many of them are 600-700 ft lbs.

Dang!! That's what I like to hear Mike. I didn't realize they were so cheap from Ford like that! Thanks for the info Looks like I'll be able to get the motor sooner than I thought so I can start mocking it up to fab the mounts
I don't have any updates on the FD yet...other than I've had my intern at the shop stripping it down more. Hopefully some good updates soon after the holidays
