Making an RX7 into a Drift Car

Alright here comes the noobish things but hey im just asking..

I've been looking for RX7's forever and always liked them for some strange reason. Im building my miata into a weekend drifter/driver until I can get my own insurance and pay for it as a daily. But on the side note im really settled on building an RX7 for a drift car next.

As for Platforms which one is good. They all are but im debating on getting an FB or an FC because I wont be able to afford the FD anytime soon.

Now should I be looking for a TII for the FC or an NA (budget comes in)

For the FC they come with a 12a. Now did those come turbo'ed also from the factory because I know they are carb. Would putting a 13B in it be a good idea or what.

As for the FC yes there are a lot more upgrades you can do to it in suspension and other stuff to. Yet again this wouldn't be a 500hp screaming car because I wouldn't want to build a Formula Drift car though that is a dream I have. Also would have it as a daily.

Any suggestions. What you would do and how to make it into a fun little drift car to play around in. Budget comes in and well I'm doing this for future ref. Thanks everyone. I might check out the setup thread on here aswell. I really wouldnt mind doing a FB because I never seen one and it would be so badass too!

I would def get stance since there on my miata now, pbm are good alot of people run them. Gotta look into the eliminators. Thats basically premixing like a 2 stroke I was told. Sounds easy enough! Ima do it once income comes in and if I want to sell miata get some seat time first though

idk if you mean the eliminators are like premixing. they arent. they are solid replacement bushing in your rear hubs that stop the 2degree toe(in and out) from happening. makes your car feel 237% better.

also do the premix. it will save your engine. unless you do it wrong. just put 2 stroke oil in your gas tank. its like 1:100 gas oil mix or something. more if you are beating the **** out of it. do your research on it. I havent done it for at least 6 years since i am not rotary anymore.

if you start dicking with turbo stuff you will blow it up and be broke for the next 5 years trying to get it back on the track. unless its a stock turbo 2. then leave it stock and party.

Thanks for all the input dude! I premix my blaster all the time and crap because I like 2 stroke more then 4 stroke but ill look into the premixing and stuff. Def the Eliminators if I get one. prices nowadays for these cars are crazy. Sounds like a plan for me this summer, gonna work my *** off.

there is a lot of really basic starter info around on this forum, i think you need to do more research. you're answers cannot be answered simple "do this" it comes down to budget, goals for the car, what you want to do, what you dont want to do, driving preferences, etc.
