AZ E85 (afr, pressure, etc.)

I had to replace my fuel tank and got one full of E85.

_Current setup_
Cosmo 3 motor fuel pump
Injector Dynamics 720/1000 cc
Haltech e6k
AEM wideband
T04e
Large Streetport
Dowell pins

So I'm getting another set of 1000's and later an aeromotive a1000 with -8 to the fuel rails.

Question is will the air fuel ratio be the same as 91 pump gas?

I know E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline, and 91 is 15% ethanol and 85% gasoline...

My current tune hangs at 11.8 to 12 on the wideband (91). What's good afr's for E85?

I made a Q&A thread a few years ago when I thought about switching to it.

From what I wrote. Stoich is 9.8:1

Don't forget premixing is now Castor oil with E85. 2Stroke won't work with ethanol.

Stoich on your a/f gauge may be different... it depends if the gauge reads lambda or not.

and i thought i would mention there are better choices than castor 927 (separates in cold weather and leaves a gummy residue). if you need help finding a better premix pm me or since your local you can actually come by and check ouy what i have.

Good chance you will need more injector unless you are adding another set of 1000s, and not just replacing your 720s with them. (depending on how much power you plan to make)

no this is not 2aaron although after looking through you pics i think your george? we traded fenders awhile back.

Anyways back to the premix klotz and castor 927 bothth use real castor oil which leaves a sticky residue in the engine. I have found a full synthetic premix made SPECIFICALLY for e85 and similar fuels. It will not separate in cold weather or leave a sticky residue like klotz and castor 927. I think im one of few if not the only person using this premix in a rx7. it would be nice to have a someone local try i too.

only downside is that it can not be used with gasoline fuels like the castor and klotz

shouldn't this be in the Alternative fuels section? There's a ton of good info in that section.
way to bring back a dead thread...
