Posting in here got me motivated to pull the car down, and get it ready to get sent out for media blasting.

No major progress on the drift car worth updating so here's a customers 13b-t -8an secondary fuel rail I modified from a stock unit.

Still side tracked... Here's the newest addition. 100% stock/unmolested. Never seen anything this old look so nice inside. Door panels are pristine, dash isn't cracked. Hardtop, black/grey interior. I'm not touching anything!

Heck yea, thanks! I'd trade it for a REPU though. Really want one for everyday shop duties.

Started looking it over and realized it doesn't have a stock radio :/ so it's almost completely unmolested (lol) and the dash is cracked further under the dash cover :/ still not bad for the age!

Basically like that here but there are close to 10 that I know of. No one will sell them, and the few that are willing are trying to sell to buy FDs and I'm reluctant to pay that much money for something I don't really need right now. If I could find one under $3500 I'd do it.

PART 1 of 2 posts due to photo size!

Weeks behind but here's an actual drift car update!

Picked up a tig welder, got it all set up and operational! I totally suck at it currently but I definitely prefer it over mig.

Also got a sweet deal on a used Millermatic 252 as well.

Made a jack point on the front subframe

Started on the chassis rotisserie (finally...) I don't think I'll be sending the car out to get media blasted. Few friends said they'd come by and help wire wheel so that will free up $1000 in the budget!

Seeing some improvements in my weld game. Still not the best at it, but I definitely enjoy fab work, over paint.

I've noticed that I'm inconsistent with my travel speeds, but I also have the same problem maintaining consistent speeds when I paint long panels...

But the more I do it, the more I see improvements.

Bent up a mount to match the bash bar angle, and welded on brackets. OEM FD sway bar mounts are 1.5" ID so that made things easy. Notched the center to insert the tubing, and create a stronger joint. Obviously the center slug was removed after this pic.

Scroll down for part 2!

Part 2!

Welded the sway bar brackets on the bash bar to mount the rotisserie mount securely.

Currently at this point right now. Dedicating the day to getting this finished up. Leaving it without caster wheels for a few days so I can get back to customer work, but I'm excited to get the car stripped down and stitched!

Dash simplified and center console set in.

Will be utilizing the Evo-R carbon instrument cluster hood blank, and shifter surround as pictured with the racepak (photo credit Evo-R)

Next step pedals, seat, and then cage time.

Finally figured out the Harley fairing I've been stuck on since last week. Started processing a few orders, and even got to toss my FD on the rotisserie. This will be it's home for the next several weeks. Who wants pizza and drinks in exchange for some labor prepping the bottom of this thing? ‪#‎RX7Factory‬ ‪#‎FD‬ ‪#‎BattleBornFD‬ ‪#‎DriftFD‬ ‪#‎RX7‬ ‪#‎MaxDog‬ ‪#‎ChassisFabrication‬ ‪#‎Rotisserie‬ ‪#‎DriftCar‬

Definitely made life easier! Last time I did this it was on a 2 post lift and that sucked...

Photo dump of the Harley I just completed. Scion TC Cement gray, with Ford Tuxedo black.

Black specks are glass in my phone lens. Need to fix that sometime this year 😂

This thing took 3 tries to get the primer to adhere to the base color, which ended up being spray paint. Reacted every single time 8-10hrs after curing... Finally took it all the way down to the gel-coat with 60grit, primed it, blocked it, primed it, blocked it... After everything it turned out sick!

It's tough only getting 1 or 2 days a week to work on the drift car but it's coming along! Removed easily 15-20lbs of undercoating/seam sealer

Sold my red FD finally. Going to miss it, but it's funding my shop expansion, and giving me a much needed working capital to grow.

First thing on it's way

Excited !

Bitter sweet. :/ Some more pics of my Pettit FD

Huge transformation from when I first bought it. 4 flat tires, not running, 2000 spec styling, motor in a basket.... Took a huge risk but it paid off, and got another clean FD on the street! New owner is stoked on it!

finally mobile. Need to weld in the cross braces on the rear support. Didn't want to use expensive DOM for that so added the wheels and called it a night.

Also stumbled across this pic.

Kinda bummed since this is basically the exact color I'm using, but it does look nice to see some motivation to get it done. Almost all of the time consuming crap is knocked out of the way. Almost time to start building!

Almost to 15k views on this build - crazy!

Because I'm exhausted, I'm copy pasting from Instagram. Follow my profile if you're on there, and I'll follow back! @driftFDbuckey or search the hashtags: #RX7Factory #BattleBornFD for more photos of the build not shown here!

Finally done with all that stuff! Now onto the cage, then my favorite part. PAINT! Shout out to @richdabear for the advice. I was struggling with contamination and I was pretty retarded when it came to my setup for all the thin gauge floor pan stuff. Helped a ton, thank you! Got it all squared away and checked off the list! #RX7 #FD #ChassisRotisserie #groundupbuild #BattleBornFD #driftcar #RX7Factory #ChassisFabrication #MillerWelders #FalkenTire #FalkenSpotting
