Question 3rd generation paint thickness (for compounding/polishing purposes)

I was wondering how thick 3rd generation RX-7 paint was considered for compounding/polishing purposes. I have a 1993 Vintage Red Touring with the Hi-Reflex paint (original paintjob). I am new to the Mazda world but I know from owning a WRX that Subaru's are considered to have very thin paint.

Thanks,
Drew

you would have to go to a professional detailer, any detailer worth his grain of salt will have a paint thickness guage. until then i would stay away from any crazy abbrassive compounds and stick with normal polish/pad combos. you will be fine using Meguiars 205 or Sonax perfect finish with a green/black pad.
