I'm in the 'Peg. Had a 'run in' with Fred. We don't talk any more so I stay far away from him.
Oh well.
I'm interested in putting a turbo on my car. Owned it brand new since 1982 - original owner. Needless to say I pamper it. Done a lot of stuff through Adam at RX7 Specialities in Calgary.

I'm in the need for some help. I've been struggling with trying to change out the power side mirrors switch. I can get the switch loose but can't seem to reach in there to unplug the switch. I have a replacement switch to put in.
If there's someone in the 'Peg that can spare 5 minutes and it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I managed to get the unplugged with the help from a Mazda technician. I've also got the power window working. Used some penetrating grease and let it sit over night. Tapped on the motor and presto, works. Don't know how long it'll work for but it seems to be moving up and down without any hindrance.

What I am still looking for is a combination switch for a 1982 RX7 with cruise control. The Mazda dealership wants about $700 for one. Crap, that's a ton of money but it may be worth it if it's brand new. They only come from Japan apparently.
But if someone knows where I could locate one that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

been driving the vert from transcona to work in waverly / wilkes area once a week. Running very good . I have seen quite a few S2, S3 first gens around on my way to work . Thats about it . My '79 is still in pieces at a friends in ontario . That one is a ten year plan i guess.

Well my build is sitting around 80%. It should be on the road this summer. Not sure about the track, but she should be driving around with only my street tune.

Its a blizzard and locked down for the day. Just checking in on the Winnipeg 7 guys. Who's still in the game?
drove my vert a day or two a week this summer. Running well but have an intermittent cel issue. Haven't checked the code yet. My Yokohama tires are getting a bit old and may replace even though tread depth still fine. Probably 15 years on them.
My 79 turbo swap project still in pieces in a storage area in Ontario. Probably no progress will be made on that again next year.

Got my new turbo build done and had the car out a few times this summer. Battled some issues and a change of job so it made it hard. Hoping to be out more next summer.

Thread revival! Anyone still around here?

There are certainly a lot less first gens on the road these days, but I see FDs quite regularly. Where y'all at?

Nice to see someone is still around and active. Hope all is well!

Seems like there are lots of garage queens hiding away, and maybe the -club is too "oldschool" for the new generation who are driving their cars regularly. I met a couple younger guys with first gens this summer, good people. I'll spread the word and maybe we can make an RX-7 meet happen next summer!

Keep on truckin'

-Alex
