Sept 21st Atlantic Motorsports Park Mazda Corral
When: Sunday, September 21 - 9am meeting, 10:30 at the track
Where: 9am @ Walmart Bedford Commons, 10:30 at Atlantic Motorsport Park, Shubenacadie
Join us for the thrilling conclusion of the Toyo Tires Spec Miata championship this weekend at Atlantic Motorsport Park in Shubenacadie. Going into the last round, there is a tie for the lead - in which a win could mean the chance to attend the Mazda Motorsports Club Racer Shoot-out in California.
To celebrate, we're hosting a Mazda corral - much like those that happen at other tracks - and we're pulling out all the stops.
We have support from Mazda Canada, Mills Mazda in Truro, Dairy Queen/Orange Julius, and the Spec Miata Drivers Association.
The corral will have special parking, prizes, food, and discounted entry ($5 per car load) - as well as parade lapping on track in AMP in YOUR car for only $5. That's right - $10 for a day at the track - and that's it!
A group will be meeting at Walmart Bedford Commons at 9am to cruise to the track. If you want to join the fun, RSVP to the Facebook event here:

Atlantic Motorsport Park Official Website for directions.
Corral ticket are available all week in HRM - message to arrange to get one if you aren't going to make it to the meet point on Sunday morning at 9am.

Sounds like a ton of fun. Its a great track and a great vibe to be there. Last event I went to at AMP was in the late 90's when I just happened to be in Halifax on business.
Good luck with the event and the Spec Miata guys really put on a show anywhere.

Thanks. The Spec Miata battle should be great. One of the two leaders is actually from Ontario and flies in on race weekends. The racing between the two leaders has been... intense.. even by Spec Miata standards. (Think some NASCAR like moves.) Should be some fireworks this weekend.
As for the corral, we are hoping to make a go of it. We have a group of local Mazda "enthusiasts" (mostly Mazda 3s) coming who don't know much more about being an enthusiast than standing around in a parking lot. We are trying to introduce them to the track in a low pressure fun way and hopefully get a few hooked.
*Edit: The wife has decided she's going to throw a few pork butts in the smoker for Sunday to add to the catering for the event.

For those following along at home, we had a great event with 24 cars in the corral. Watched a great set or races including the final 3 Spec Miata races for the championship battle.
We had a good set of parade laps, lots of food and thanks to Mazda Canada for prizes and give away items, as well as DQ Orange Julius for prizes and the Spec Miata Drivers Association for shirts.
