He's selling it actually, but it was a customer that brought it to us for a going over to see what it would need. They are still working things out, but if it doesn't go through I'll post up what he's looking to get out of it.

Eunos cosmo are not much more expensive than FDs in japan. You could get one imported for less than the price of a north american FD (In Canada of course)

I was going to buy one back in the summer but it sold before I could get my hands on it.

was really nice too, was a type E-CCS, perfect inside and out, was about $8000.

you get them them cheaply if you look for them, but they can be hard to find!

Where do you get parts for them,Japan only? Unlike FD's these were never sold here.Nice car but sounds expensive parts wise with lots of down time if something breaks.

Most parts are interchangeable with other Mazda's, the brakes are 929 brakes, the tranny is from an MPV, the engine obviously can be rebuilt using mostly FD engine parts...

I really wonder how many of the parts are 929 parts... they're very similar cars. The 929 has a monster diff in the back, I wonder if it's the same too.

Some day....

On a similar note. Every time someone mentions that they want a 3 rotor from japan I show them a picture of a car that the engines are taken from and then they feel guilty for ever suggesting removing the heart of such a beautiful vehicle and end up wanting one.

They really are wonderful things. In need of a 5 speed swap though.

he's got one of his own that is for sale as soon as his new one gets here. and a couple others for parts cars.
they drive beautifully. like riding in a cadillac. the 20b. delivers about as much power as a stock fd, cause they are quite a bit heavier of course.

You can easily do a manual swap in these cars. It requires the clutch pedal setup from the 929, then just a transmission. Its almost silly how easy it is mechanically.

However, without the automatic, the ECU requires reprogramming. This can be done by a shop in Austrailia for a premium, or you can just use a standalone.

Alot of the Aussies I talk too do the FD transmission swap along with a Microtec.
