Be careful someone tried to steal my 7

I was just cruising around with my wife and I parked in a plaza to run in for food (by myself) and left my wife because I was going to be quick. The tops down and windows up. I come back out and my wife tells me that a Beige - Brown 2000ish Jeep Cherokee pulls up by the drivers Rear quarter panel and she hears one guy say loudly let's steal this car, the guy left his car open he says. At this point my wife is bending down to get something off the floor so they don't see her.

He approaches the car and at this point my wife looks up and thinking this was a joke turns to them. The man looks shocked he runs back to the Jeep and yells drive fast so she can't see our licence plates. They begin weaving in and out of the parked cars. My wife doesn't get a clear look at the plate. At this point I just come outside. She tells me they were in they're 40s and Caucasian heavy set guys.

I go to the police station and report it but there's nothing I can do without a plate.

I think it was going to be a random crime not a specific car they were thinking about. I think its time to install a kill switch and a quick release wheel.

Just everyone watch your cars. Id hate for some low life scum to ruin anyone's car.

Some people can sure be stupid/ballsy. Ever since someone tried looking into my hatch through the tinted windows (we're talking eyes cupped by their hands as their face is pressed against the glass kinda thing), and I come out of the restaurant and tell him to get away. He just tells me he was just admiring my car, but I tell him to GTFO because they are tinted for a reason.. to keep peering eyes out. Since then, I've never parked my FD and left it. Not even for a short time.

Glad nothing ultimately happened to your car.

Yes, people are stupid.
I only take the FD out to drive. I don't leave it anywhere parked.
She use to be a daily driver for the first 2yrs of her life (sans winter driving of course..). I'm very impressed with how she dealt with daily duties. I'm surprised how no one attempted to steal her. Granted, I searched for spots that were obvious and were close to a piller/curb to keep her from getting dinged. But thankfully never had anyone attempt to steal her.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

IF it were me..I'd be dancing!
I would have gotten rid of 2 headaches..the car and the wife!..at the same time.
(take my wife..please..ba-dum-cha!..)

But ya,seriously,I have a really weird relationship with my car and hate to let it out of my sight.
Besides, all the work I put into the car I have,.I don't want anyone even near the damn thing,so I'm usually within running distance of it!
It may not look like much,.but to me,it's mine..and that's all that needs to be said.

I came out of a bar once to see my passenger door open and feet sticking out of the car.(old Mustang II I had.)..I freaked and ripped the body out of there..it was a 12 year old kid stealing my cassettes.I called the cops anyways and the kid was known to cops but they were yakking that they hated dealing with the dad as he was a Nutbar too.

I found out (the hard way) that we have what are called "Point A to Point A" cars. No parking in unsafe places.

Is that a switch when set to "Kill", it ends the life of a thief who attempts to steal the vehicle? If so, sign me up. I'll take 6. Because I believe in overkill.
