FC3S 1986 N/A From finland
Hi.
Wondered i`d write about my fc a little. It`s an import from Germany to Finland,
PO had allready done an overhaul for the engine. So far it works.
Swapped my El Camino on it last fall, managed to have a little fun with it before winter came.
Few pics from fall, the way we were.
For starters, i had to replace original exhaust, `cos it was held on mainly by rust..
Made my own design, pretty straight through 2,5" pipe. Surprisingly its also pretty quiet when you travel. But he** breaks loose when you give it some gas. So it`s attentiongetter in town.
It had some aftermarket 16" under, didn`t like those. So i loaned SSR wheels from a friend, i actually sold these same wheels to him.. Gutted..
Same time when changing wheels, decided to cut original springs, since i knew winter would bring me some coilovers.
Appearance vice, we were gettin better for my eye.
So rest of fall went like this, and on november, the rx went for hibernation.
Ebay provided coilovers, steeringwheel, and most importantly, new clutch ,`cos old ones bearing was grinding like hell.
Also bought some new wheels for the baby, needs some fixing thought
ACT 8,5*16 ET 28
Next episode, Brakejob..

I`ll continue ..
Little brake job, old ones were totaled, front end was stuck, 3 of 4 pistons.. per side i mean.
Rear wasn`t better at all..
Front discs, you almost could say they were stuck to the hub..
Rears come off clean thought
Little bath time, so rust and stuck parts would loosen a bit.
Pistons off, and ready to refurb.
First front caliber, and rear calibers.
Painted, new gasgets and rubberboots, slowly coming together something you can just put back in car.
Well, that`s a start, i`ll write some more soon.
Thank you.

Thanks REW.
Sadly those ssr`s were loaned by that time.
So let`continue.
Weekend was pretty efficient, managed to drop the old suspension and assembled new one in for a trial fit.
Have to do some cleaning..
Rear brakes ready, It`s so nice when you can install some clean parts.
Also rear shocks on a trial fit..
Front end so i can determine the ride height.
Like that..
And more fitting, rear is way too high. have to do something with that..
Next on agenda is some rimfixing, so i can mount the tyres and check how the height really is.
Lot has changed after this, i have to write next update fast..

Moro ! Mukava nähdä muidenkin suomalaisten seiska harrastajien tänne kirjoittelevan
Olenkin ko. auton seikkailuja seurannut usean vuoden ajan(nettiautosta). Turkuunko tämä FC on nyt eksynyt ? Itse olen FC:n omistanut jo vuodesta 2007 lähtien ja nyt on iso remppa päällä. Siitä lisää kirjoittamassani blogissa.

Thanks guys.
And Kuuva, luin eilen blogis, on sulla ollu tavan paljon koettelemuksia.
Tän laitoksen historia kiinnostaa, onko sulla millasta infoa liikkeistä?
And again, some progres, This time wheel refurbishing.
Picture doesn`t really tell the truth abouth what condition these were. Curbing and pink overspray etc..
Here`s a picture, after quick wash and mild paintstripping.
So, paintstripping didn`t go as planned. Time to start sanding. First 120
Little comparing.
All four sanded. Yay.
Forgot to took pictures from different stages, but i gues you all know the drill.
320-600-800-1000-1500 and finally polish the lips.
Home stretch..

Second post for wheels
Masking so we can start painting.
Basecoat, For a while wondered leaving them to white. Glad i didn`t.
On to the colour.
trialfit with wheels. Rear is soooo high. Have to do something about it.
Well, pictures suck. Taken with phone so quality isn`t best.
Next on to do list is the height of rear...
Thanks.

Thanks.
Brakes been bled, been fidling with rear height, too high still but..
Dropped the seven to ground and just looked at it.
Hell, i love it.
Tyre/Wheel combo sits pretty good to my liking.
Small details still to do. changing the steerinwheel, etc
Painted the doorhandless to black, suits better for my eye.
Next, road inspection...

Oh, do you know when the deal`s been done?
So. Seven passed inspection.
Did 4 wheel alignment at work, and tried some coil adjustments.
Just a tad stiffer for back, and a little softer on front and it will be ok.
First run was 400 km to a car meet in finland, and just to check that everything works like should.
That feeling after winter, when you get to drive. O my.
Oops..
So now i`m gonna pretty much just drive, and hope everything stays ok until the summer really starts.
Oh yeah, need to change clutch, pressure bearing makes noise. But that is a no brainer. Hope so.
Thanks

Now, that is an exellent question. i don`t have a clue.there is a connection at the down pipe for it, and from there it went straight to back like that. I was afraid to remove it. So i connected it to exhaust pipe. It even had/has a silencer.. So if anyone knows, feel free to shine some light about this.
