bought some gold heat tape to try to keep some of the heat from going into the car from engine bay, and to try and keep some of the coolant lines near the turbo from heating up. hope it works!!
also painted the engine bay Gunmetal, hoping that it looks good once i paint the car that Teal colour.

The links are not the issue. The control arm bushings themselves are. On stock height, or a modest drop, the polymer bushings are ok in the control arms. On really anything more than an inch or two, you will probably have binding on the rear control arms due to the stiff bushings. The stock bushings are $25 a piece and you need 4 of them. The sperical kit is about $350 last i checked.
It's more of an issue if you are doing competitive driving like auto cross and such. The suspension binding makes the rear end a little squirrely. It can also hog out the bushings early and wear early.
Here's a link to a good rundown of the rear suspension: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...ified-1067114/
By shortening the camber links, it stresses the rear bushings quite a bit if they are stiff. I personally am going to try and stick to stock length ones, but put Whiteline camber bushings in the knuckle. We'll see how it goes when I get my car together in the next 1-25 years

It looks like your friend threw the PBM catalog at it. You really should do all parts they offer to avoid binding. These are the spherical bearings I mentioned. The price is lower than I remembered.
