I really enjoyed sandblasting, it´s a quite relaxing process.
Before:
After:
later i sprayed clear coat on it (somehow theres a lot of unused clearcoat cans in the garage)

I have very little money at the moment so i try to make all the little things that i can afford....
bought some brake copper brake lines and nuts for them:

hope to have some time @ some day in coming work week to relocate the abs delete thingy, because its a mess and takes a lot of room from the engine bay.
Also i bought some cheap transmission oil to lubricate the gearbox, i was getting worried because i only sprayed some thin oil in there after i cleaned the box with water and break cleaner and the gears didnt want to go in... after filling it and turning the engine a little, all the gears worked well

installed the shifter and brand new rubber boot what i thought was a one piece thing but putting it on there it broke loose and i had 3 pieces, 2 of them identical

Hanged out @ my friends garage

the engine in left made 493whp with stock ports and stock radiator without any cooling problems... nice! and the renesis will hopefully go on a mx-5 if we can get the main pulley bolt out, thats kind of a problem because i was sitting on the engine and my friend used a wrench with a pipe on it and the result was a broken tool

while searching for the two tII side housings from my shelf @ the garage i discovered that the front iron had an oil pump attached to it, suddenly i realized that i probably could have owned a tII oil pump all along, and that was exactly the case.
took it apart and cleaned it and now i have reason to change the front cover to a s4 one and remove all the MOP stuff and put a block on plate to it YAY! quality time with my lovely car and over 200€ saved

Winter is coming quick, but theres still a healthy 9 degrees celsius inside

I tightened the pressure regulator valve too much and it cracked, so my friend welded it so its good for now.

a short time lapse of the work:

unfortunately the piece that presses the brake line end wide is missing so i didnt get to relocate the abs delete thingy.

After many brake line pressing kits with missing pieces i bought my own

and cleaned up the mess.

it was totally pointless to waste money on the mazdatrix abs delete kit, i only needed the T-block, but anyway i have a spare clutch hose now if i should need it
Also i swapped my usdm front fender to eu fender with the turn signal hole, i believe aussie rx-7's also have these..

paint remover helped to soften those many layers of paint and filler/putty?(google translate)

50% weight reduction

it has had a lot of hammering so i guess i have to fill it again, i'm a noob at this so i may do it over and over again to get some reasonable result-

while trying to bleed the clutch i found out that the master cylinder is not working,no fluid was passing through. took it to work to waste some time and disassemble and clean it, to give it another try

was full of rusty bad looking liquid, now cleaned up, hope it'll work without rebuilding it.

A bit late to wish for a happy new year, but anyway happy year to everybody!
To be honest i went to garage only briefly in the christmas/nye time, just had a long vacation and had some much needed rest.
The clutch master cylinder still doesn't want to work, maybe i have to just suck the fluid from the slave to have it build pressure..?

Primered and tried on the fender, damn its so badly bent, it kind of fits when bolted to the car, but it still is under tension.

the gap between the body and the fender:

and the other side which fits nicely:

i haven't decided yet what to do with it, not really sure if its worth fixing, have to consult with someone who's more experienced in panel beating.

New year, new parts, thanks to my stepfather who decided to play santa and transfered some money with a message: "Merry christmas, good boy" He always thought im gonna be a junkie, but i turned out fine.
Anyway i got a fmic:

Not so easy to fit it there, need to be at an angle because i really do not want to cut the bumper, it has to look stock, atleast from outside. Also the beam(google translate) wont fit right now, i cant sacrifice the front end strenght so i must cut, modify and weld it.

Bought a RE-A 80mm Boost gauge, i know i should have bought some parts to build the car right now, but i really wanted it and it was only 88$,brand new, never used. All the others on ebay were like 200$. The car will be very pleased.

And my friend had to do an inventory in his work car and found this:

It's been sitting in there for about 2 years now hope it still works.

turned the cooler upside down, for that i had to cut and bend a little bit of the front end so that it can sit about the same angle as the radiator and the oil cooler.

now i didn't have to cut the bumper and it fits better

just hanging in there right now, haven't made any brackets yet

have to find the right place bcause right now the turn signals block the way for the pipes, but they come in 2.5 inch anyway so theres gonna be a bit more room for them (cooler holes are 3 inch)
putting the parts back on to the car to see where's room for the piping, starting with headlights.

im out of propane and it is freezing in the garage, i didn't last long in there, welded the front end what i previously cut (hoping to get some warmth )
temperature has been down to -28C (-18.4F) in last few weeks and the garage still holds the cold even if it's warmer now.

The new HRC 340lph fuel pump arrived

took the old one out

I'm glad that the fuel tank looks like new from inside, just a little bit of dirt.

soldered the wiring @ work @ 22Celsius

meanwhile iv'e been doing the stuff that i can afford, so maybe when the car is running eventually i just have to put the parts on it and go driving.
a thick layer of under body coating with a paint brush

painted the ps pump thingy

the weather changed dramatically so i went on the roof the shovel most of the snow off it, but damn my ceiling is still leaking, really damp and uncomfortable in there. must fix it asap.

got my fake hks bov, opened it and checked the membrane, seems good to me.

still doing the fender, it takes a lot of time since i'm still level 1 at this

i hate sandind but i like to learn as much as i can and thankfully i have good teachers

trying to repair the front lip what has been broken several times

so this time i used some 2 component glue and i was surprised how strong it came

just in case i put some fiberglass on to reinforce it.
then i put a nut in the spoiler

got the manifold welded

still needs wastegate pipes tho
and a v-band flange welded to the turbo

also bought 2.5 inch ss pipes and 90 degree angles for intake so i have something to do while i'm out of the money for 2 months in a row, damn i really should make a reality survival show or something

The weather is nice, almost warm and everybody take their cars out or finishing their builds already -_-
I feel like a salmon who needs to swim upstream to go spawn but instead i have the urge to be in the garage as much as i can, unfortunately i cant always :/
Haven't posted a while so theres some of the stuff iv'e made..
turbo pipes, welded most of them myself, but all the nicer welds are of course where you cant see them if they're on the car.

downpipe

fmic brackets

how the pipes look on the car:

I'm having a hard time putting all stuff back on the car, progress is slow but steady.
So far iv'e blocked the oil injector holes with 10x1.25 bolts, bought new hoses for coolant and fuel, messing around with the wiring putting together the connectors, dashboard is in, modified the oil filling pipe, put oil cooler lines back on the car (buying new when i have money) made a cf instrument panel to replace the radio:

Other gauges shoud arrive this week...
It's almost 3 years from when i took it apart, cant remember where to put all these parts.
Like what the hell is that thing?

and where do these pipes go???
the bigger one should come from the interior heater and go to the radiator? The small one i dont even know, probably have to find another route for them because of the turbo.
have to cut the fpr and pulsation dampener from the fuel rails and weld them shut.
My brakes are finally functional, just need to bleed the rear ones a bit more.
Starting to find a place for wastegate, after that its wiring time.
A lot more stuff i need to do, can't remember right now.

Here it is

relocated the p/s pump because the intake pipe didn't fit after welding.
Used this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...cation-705539/

took only about 1.5 hours
Removed everything i dont need from the throttle body, only kept one dashpot just in case:

Oil temperature and pressure senders, the seller accidentally sent me a sender with a wrong thread and i already cut it to length, so i mounted it to the turbo oil feed, but now i cant use the OEM sender to the dashboard, must get a new one.

I also got the flanges machined, it went 3 times more expensive as i thought.
Why? Because rotary! Not a standard shape manifold and they mostly do n/a jobs so yeah. Next time i weld everything by myself and bolt the flanges to something strong so it wont warp. Learning is expensive

Zinc coated and ready to wrap:

A vape test:
Now i know it flows somehow
EGT sensor:
I have a really bad memory, especially when i cant get enough sleep like now when the days are really long, so i got this for 9.99€

I have connected most of the hoses, right now waiting for the FPR, have to make new brackets for the fuel rail because of the injectors, new wiring for fuel pump, bleed the rear brakes, buy oils, probably a new radiator ASAP, because the stock is heavily corroded while sitting in the garage, find another route for the pipe from heater to rad., finish the exhaust, and lots and lots of stuff, but i guess im done fabricating, just need to put everything together.

Looking really good brotha , love the manifold design with the gate . And every exhaust system I build I smoke test to find all the pinholes . Never fails me . So what size turbo do you have again . Damn near looks the size of my holset hx52 . And what size gate are you using by chance . I'm using s ol' Skool 38-40mm hks at 10psi right now . go to 15 as long the s4 rear iron holds up .

It's a pretty big turbo, i can't actually see any numbers anywhere, there are some numbers inside the turbine housing but they are unreadable, a friend has a holset hx40, but my turbine housing is bigger... It's a Schwitzer S3, from a big truck i think
Founds some measurements from some swedish forums, cant tell they're accurate but:
compressor: 66mm exhaust: 73mm
My friend offered me a holset hx52 with a small turbine housing just a moment a go, but i'm lo on money so i'll see how it goes with the one i have.
The WG is a 60mm size, ebay stuff i guess.
I'm also afraid about that rear iron, so probably not over 1 bar of boost, or 280kw/400hp. The irons weigh a lot so the shipping price for me is like from a horror movie. And that kind of power for me is more than enough.

BTW, does anyone know how important is that piece of metal attached to the oil pump?
It is just behind the front cover where the turbo oil drain pipe attaches.. I'm missing that piece and really do not want to take the front cover off again, doesn't seem like an important part to me.

Yes but what for? To not get air bubbles in oil? Or the oil pump gear and chain will throw oil in the turbo oil drain pipe?

Its so the turbo drain doesnt splash on the chain from my understanding, but also maybe from the chain flinging it .
