Really nice set up. Do you have the PN or an e-bay seller or just dimensions for the FMIC? I have the stock IC but it's routed all over the place and just want to get it cleaned up with a nice straight pipe routing. Have you though about using a compression elbow instead of the routing you have into your stock throttle body inlet? Seems like you could eliminate a bunch of bends if you use one. What IC piping did you go with?
Thanks,
Dave

As far as the question of the air filter location, If you have cut out the right side radiator support for the intercooler piping, make the opening as large as possible. That way fresh air can enter the engine bay on the side right where the air filter will be sitting. No problem, right?
I don't know if you can even see mine, but the air filter is right under the right side intercooler pipe behind the headlight. Mine seems to be happy with it like that

Size of intercooler is 25" x 12" x 3" with 2.5" exits. It fits PERFECTLY where I have it. Very pleased with it. It's a bar and plate intercooler from cxracing on ebay. Just type in "cxracing" on ebay and go to their store.
I used a universal piping kit from ebay also. Just polished the piping . I do plan on getting a compression elbow in the near future. I was able to make all my intercooler piping with most the couplers and piping included first shot though!!
I'm thinking of maybe switching down the road to FD intake/throttle body/compression elbow like Sam has VVV. I plan to hit full boost by 3k rpms also. It might be nice to switch since Sam has noticed a difference in his powerband.

I'm still nervous if I run the large filter on my car the fan might hit the silicone coupler in boost or cornering or what not. I'll most likely change to smaller FC clutch fan for clearance and swap out my good FB clutch fan on the FC fan. For now the turbo screen is going to do.

Haha Thanks audiman!! I've seen a few autobahns pop up forsale every now and then. Keep an eye on wheels section, ebay, and craigslist. These wheels will die with me
I need opinions guys!!!
Leave my RB muffler polished or paint it matte black so it doesn't stand out?? I plan to have a dump on it down and off to the passenger side

idk the polished muffler looks sweetttt, but if your towns cops are like mine? then they hate any import with a muffler yet say NOTHING to a mustang gt with a set of flowmaster 40s and a catless H-pipe(like my friends car...who has a 91 supra and gets hated on by cops all the time, as well does his girlfriends Tiburon, which is supercharged btw but has no trouble in his mustang which is arguably louder.) so basically all the imports around here get pwned with stupid BS tickets. hopefully theyre not as bad where you live though
and either way i say F@CK the police, have a nice shiny and large exhaust tip and enjoy it!

My bro in law and a few friends are cops. I started carrying my bro in laws badge number, name of his srgt, and area on a paper. From now on if I get pulled over i'll hand him that with my license and insurance lol!!
I hate most cops here too though. They use their authority way too much here...

Sweet car! The engine compartment is very nice. Did you re paint it? Mine is stock paint and there is no where near that much body color in there. The wheels are awesome. Perfect styling for a hopped up stocker look!

My dad is actually a cop, however he's a car enthusiast(where I get it from) and doesn't give out BS tickets on exhausts and stupid crap, unless you're being stupid and revving a lot and making a scene. My uncle is also a cop, he's the same way, no BS tickets oon "illegal modifications". But my dad and his brother both will agree that most cops are racist against imports/tuners! CURSES! Anyway I know how ya feel, do polished for now like you said then paint it later

What I did is just retipped mine. My muffler had a 4" outlet to begin with. I have a local muffler shop that does a lot of performance diesel exhaust. I rumaged through the scrap pipe and found some 5" pieces that had an elbow. I cut of the strait tip. Welded on the elbow and painted it black.

twinkletoes I've always loved your FB, and hot damn those wheels are nice...your wheels actually was what made me fall in love with meshies. I was gonna do a TII swap this year, but then I found out I'm going to be a dad, so of course that project was put on a back burner. I have a similar set to your old one. How much did this "kit" you pieced together ran you if you don't mind me asking? it might be something I might be able to gather something similar to it in the near future.

Definitely good decision. Congrats . I want to say with everything I've done just for the turbo swap. Probably around $3k. New turbo, ecu, manifolds, radiator, intercooler, etc. All adds up. Even the little stuff ends up being more than you expected.
Well an update:
My wiring in the car will be done tomorrow. Then just a matter of powering ecu, tuning, wiring guages, turbo oil drain, and hooking up fpr and fuel lines. I might need to order some stainless lines and adapters for fpr so I'm thinking car will be running and have videos for you guys by saturday. If all goes right...
Getting there!!

Dayyyummm!! Love seeing numbers like that from a 12a . Your also bridge though! A lot of people are telling me that I should do 300rwhp even stockport. I don't know when Ill get it on a dyno. Just going to street tune it.

I wonder this all the time on other peoples threads! Thank you!
I know a turbo rotary deserves cooling attention. Especially where I live. I've addressed it all in my opinion. New raditator, rad hoses, new waterpump, checked to make sure 1 year old thermostat still working properly(it is).
I have some questions on efan? I've read a few threads saying that the stock clutch fan pulls upwards of 3,000 CFMs. Maybe even 4,000. If this is true this would be better than any efan right?
With proper undertray and fan shroud I would think thats plenty?? Cause if I had a efan that was pulling less CFM with same undertray wouldn't that be worse?
I'm not trying to argue, prove a point, or start a efan vs clutch fan debate, nor do I want people jumping in my thread and starting one after this. I'm just trying to understand . I want whatever is best for my car as we all do for our own cars. Of course I want my car to be a happy camper and not have cooling problems!
I'm just sorta confused on why I really need a efan if the clutch fan is working perfectly and puts out such high CFM ratings..
Glad to hear you've put down those numbers on stock ports. I'll be looking forward to doing the same
BTW notveryhappyjack. I've always loved your 7s! Your turbo 7 has been an inspiration!!

I run a Ford Tauras 2-speed e-fan on low with a 160* thermostat. I have a thermostat controlled relay to kick the fan on at 170*. I have NEVER had any cooling issues with mine. Even with a hot day and raping on the car. The clutch fan can drag so much power out of the engine, so why run it?

I noticed you using the lower thermostat. I might need to do similar. Very smart!! Is it a universal thermostat from parts store??
Can you do me a favor Sam?? Measure how wide the Taurus fan is from radiator to main pully where the clutch fan bolts too?? I would appreciate it. I have to see if I even have clearence for the efan.. Thanks for all the help
