Thanks tallbozo . I appreciate all the kind words! I've learned that patience goes a long way!

I've done a bit more to the car since the last update.

I went and got the downpipe ceramic coated jet black. No more header wrap and it feels a bit cooler in the bay plus the added cleanliness. PMS is the exhaust shop.. fits the rotary well I think lol

Got my hands on a GSL-SE fuel tank too. I got the por15 cleaner kit and recoated the tank internally. I did 2 coats of por15 paint on top and 2 coats of rubberized undercoating on the bottom. The tank came out excellent! Bummed I won't be able to see it anymore lol

Next was to modify the fuel pickup/return like directfreak did. I did it a little different than he did though. I had a -6 an fitting welded to the return and went with a -8(he did -10) an fitting on the supply line. I then went and got a -8 to -6 reducer for the supply. I didn't weld a -6 an fitting on the supply because it looked like it would've blocked some of the flow right off the pickup line. The reducer goes down in size nicely which I thought would be better for fuel flow. After those got welded on I coated the pickup with por15 to resist any further rust/corrosion.

I got the water injection pump mounted and water lines have been run too. I'll be using the 84-85 windshield washer tank as the water tank. From there I'm running the line to the pump which is under the passenger storage bin and bolted through the floor. The water line then goes through the drivers storage bin, under the carpet/door sill and up and out of the big grommet for the wiring harness into the engine bay to the water injector. I'll have that all wired up soon. Then I just need to install the new fuel system and tune!

More to come.

Thanks craaaazzy! I got the info off directfreaks fuel thread in the archive. Link not working. Unfortunately the pics aren't viewable anymore, but it's still great info!

I did run into a very small issue when we welded the -6 an fitting on the return. I noticed after that I wouldn't be able to install the screw under the fitting that screws the fuel pickup onto the tank itself. The screwdriver would be blocked by the fitting. To solve this I went to my local hardware store and got all new hex head screws for the fuel pickup and the fuel level sender. The thread pitch is M4 x 0.7. That way I can get a wrench on the screw under the fitting. Or you can cut the return line a little further back and then weld on the fitting. This will give you enough clearance to get a screwdriver on the original screws.

Been taking it easy on the 7 since summer started. Most days since June started have been over 100 degrees here. While taking my time I have gotten a few more things done though.

Made final measurements on the SSR wheels and had some rubbing issues with the front TII brake calipers. There is a small bump that protrudes on the caliper and isn't letting the wheel spin up front. I simply shaved that down a couple millimeters and I'm golden. Plan to powdercoat the calipers during the next brake job.

After that I sent the wheels off to get rebuilt and started my search for some SSR center caps. Found a new old stock set in Japan and had a shop in Cali bring them overseas for me. Thanks to Mike at imadeskidmarks for that great help! Hope to have the finished wheels from a different guy in a few weeks.

I've collected almost all the new parts needed for the new fuel system. I just need to order a bosch 044 fuel pump and have PTFE lines made with AN fittings. I'll be using S4 TII fuel rails, aeromotive 10/100 micron fuel filters, aeromotive FPR, same 720/1000 ID injectors, and obviously the redone GSLSE fuel tank.

Once I got the water injection pump mounted I had to work on a water tank. The AEM gallon tank wasnt going to fit anywhere without standing out. No go for me. I decided to use the 84-85 windshield washer tank in the stock location. Ordered a new tank and got a rubber body plug for the original low level sensor hole. Next I drilled a 7/8 hole with a holesaw at the most bottom, flattest, portion of the tank. Then I installed Devils Own Injection self sealing tank tap. Simply install in the new 7/8 hole and hand tighten. It creates a solid seal inside and outside the tank. It even has a stainless steel mesh screen inside it to filter the water. From there I have a 90 degree push connect that goes straight to the water line.

Took the turbo air filter piping to get powdercoated. Got my gloss black theme going and I think it looks much cleaner.

I'm getting there slowly, but surely on this setup. Hope to have a few more updates soon.

Got some great news! Car has been tuned on the new setup! I got a lot done in the past couple weeks to get the car ready for sevenstock! The GSLSE fuel tank is in along with the rest of the new fuel system. Got the fuel pressure set at 40 psi at idle.

Found a new never used GSLSE in tank fuel filter! So glad I found this since they are no longer available.

I decided to have the wastegate dump pipe rerouted back into the downpipe to help quiet down the car at full boost. Much better!!

So, I had less than a week to get the car tuned for sevenstock. I contacted a old friend Steve who actually installed the haltech computer on this car. He told me Garagelife was actually in Vegas and gave me his info. I got a hold of him and had him come out and tune the car just last night. I must say I couldn't be any happier with the tune Daniel at Garagelife gave my car! The car pulls and pulls all day and runs smoother than it ever has since I've owned this car! Thank you Daniel!

No dyno numbers as of now of course, but he told me this is easily making low 300s to the rear wheels! Sure feels like it! Now time to enjoy it!

That's it for now. See you all at sevenstock!

Wow thank you! Haha only thing I haven't taken out on the car is the dash. Someday though to clean up wiring! Was super stocked to find that tank in good shape too. Lol I understand. I've been busy with other things while still trying to work on the 7. You'll find time I hope!

Won best 1st gen at SevenStock 18 :)

Wow! What a weekend at SevenStock 18! Was glad the car was ready and happy I could just make the trip down to Socal. The crew at SevenStock did a excellent job as always and a big thanks to them for putting on another great show!

The car drove amazing down there and back to Vegas. Went all the way down to Huntington Beach and had a safe trip back home. Definitely the happiest I've been with this car. Time to enjoy it more!

Was happy to see some friends and make new ones! I was stoked when I walked back to my car to see that trophy inside of it! Couldn't have made it without the people that've helped me along the way! Thank you!

Have a update on the SSR Formula Mesh wheels I was planning to get redone. They are now assembled. These are pictures from the guy I have building them for me.. Going to be 16x7 +31 fronts and 16x9 +31 rears.

Hope to have these in my hands soon and on the car 😊

10 years of ownership! 😀

I've had this car for 10 years now on May 20th. Got it back in 2006. Hard to believe it's been that long and i'm only 25 now.

Not much going on with the 7. Just enjoying it. I did get a couple things done recently.

I installed new window channels and window grommets. I was going to do the window relay wiring to help speed them up, but couldn't find the harness on the drivers side. I'll have to take another look someday. I want to do some clear ceramic window tint on every window. Keep the clean look, but hold off some heat and to better protect the interior. That'll be done here in the near future.

I hope to have the SSR wheels on soon. The rear fit fine, but the front offset was wrong. Sent the fronts back for new barrels/lips. Will get some more pics after those get mounted.

Fantastic project, as always.

In regards to speeding up the window motors, is there a specific harness one needs to purchase or a how to regarding this. If you could point me in the right direction, sure would appreciate it.

Thanks -

Thank you Kam!

Here's the thread in the the archives. Use the 2nd link in the first post that is under the moderator edit. It describes how to do everything. I was planning to do it, but couldn't find the window switch harness running under the drivers seat. I'll have to do another look here soon.

Don't forget a turbo blanket! Your paint is far too nice to ruin it with those 1700+F degree EGTs and a glowing turbo!

I'm extremely interested in how you'll mount the fuel filters and FPR. I'm very unhappy with how I've mounted mine so I'm looking to move them once I drop the fuel tank for cleaning.

Thanks! I had one installed as a I was breaking in the new turbo and it actually changed the colors on the turbo blanket inside and was slowly smoking. I took it off in fear of it causing a fire. I need to get a nice turbo blanket for it. I wanted to ceramic coat the turbine housing, but my old one was and the turbo failed. Sometimes I think it holds too much heat in there. Turbo isn't water cooled.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with how I had to mount things. I used a aluminum bracket that was cut and made at a local exhaust shop for my FPR. I mounted the fuel filters with rubber lined clamps from all hose or your local industrial hardware store and bolted to the body. One underneath the car right before the fuel pump and the other was mounted alongside the drivers side frame rail about midway of the wheelbase.

I'll try and get pics for you sometime.
