One beautiful FB you have there! Ive always wanted to see one running CCW Classic and here it is.
Intrigued how you managed to fit such wide wheels onto it? Did you modify your guards too? How much extra space did you gain with the FC subframe?

Completely stock wheel wells or guards if you will. The secret was the backspacing on the rear. I actually have very small tire rub marks on the inner wheel well in the rear. At times during hard cornering it rubs, but very very lightly.
The front FC subframe didn't add much clearance for a wider wheel. It did give me more track so yes, but I still think for my car pushing a wider wheel up front was unnecessary which is why I stayed with a easier width up front. I forget my clearance to the coilover, but didn't want to push it too close.
I honestly miss my old autobahn style mesh wheel. Just fit the car so right with the style.

Wow man, the car is perfect. Looks great and can only hope my fb looks half as good as yours.

Got a couple things going on with the car now. The taillights were clearcoated and smoked when I got the car painted last. Don't know why my painter smoked them 
So, in the process of doing a full inside and out refresh on the taillights like Iotus did with his in his thread. Strip old clear, polish the inner lenses, clean the reflectors to like new, reseal with new caulking, new bulbs all around and PPG clearcoat on the outside to keep it looking new. Got a brand new factory center taillight piece getting clearcoated also so everything looks new. Those should be done in the next week.
Ordered AEMs newest water/methanol injection system and plan to have installed in the next couple weeks. Thanks to Fris at lucky7racing for the kit! Hopefully get a retune in and do around 12 psi and see what the car makes.
Installed a turbo 2 oil filler neck and going to install a FC greddy elbow and clean up the intercooler piping on that side from the intercooler to throttle body. Get rid of one coupler and get rid of the stock turbo 2 elbow. Should clean it up in the engine bay a little bit.
Other than that there isn't much else going on. Had a little "1st gen Mazda" photoshoot with a couple friends a few weeks back. He brought out his Miata and my other friend Paulo took these pics. Here's some from the shoot.

The car looks great. Very nice wheel fitment and camber in the front looks perfect for a street car. I like the smoked tail-lights and the subtle muffler turndown. To my eyes it could ride a little higher in the back, but I'm a weirdo that way.

Thanks! Camber up front is 0 degrees if I remember right. I'm not a big fan of cambered out wheel setups and stretched tires. Sometimes I look at the car and like the smoked lights, but I like the stock look better and think its more proper for our older cars. I had the turndown aimed straight at the ground for awhile, but not what I wanted. I recently got it redone to give it that "subtle" turndown look that we both like.
Funny thing is I've been wanting to raise the rear of the car up just a little bit. I think my rear tokico shocks are wearing out though, so I need to change those before I raise it.

I think you have the same set up on the rear that I do, Respeed adjustable spring perches with the 8" supplied Respeed coils. There isn't enough length in the springs for sufficient adjustability and I've been unable to locate the same type spring in a 9" configuration. How are you going to go about getting the extra lenght/adjustability in order to raise the car?

Hmmm. This makes sense. I've tried to raise the rear a few times and have had issues also. I thought it was due to worn shocks. I'll find a way lol. I know someone that might be able to make a special set of rear springs. If he can I'll pm you to see if your interested too.

Not much new with the car. Been sitting. Finally got around to installing the new greddy elbow and redoing the intercooler piping. Here's how it came out.
Realized over two years and going on my Frankenstein 13b too. Running just fine!

Would you be willing to put together a step by step guide to your taillight refurbishment for those of us who also have taillights that are in need of upgrade? It's the only part left on my FB that doesn't look good yet.

Our rear end setups are horrible on these cars as long as they are stock. Look into techno toy tunings coilover setups for the rear. Seem to work well for some people.
They didn't work in the rear with my car though so I ended up selling them. I think it's cause of my moser axles and big brake setup which had the caliper brackets in the way. I also didn't receive a relocation bracket with my coilovers that might've helped.

I ordered a brand new left taillight from mazdatrix and a new center taillight garnish center piece. I found a new old stock right side taillight in Australia and should be here in a couple weeks!
Check out user ioTus' build thread in here. On one of his pages it shows him rebuilding his taillights. They look amazing! Where I got the urge to redo mine.
Very nice! You'll love that setup! We'll be looking for something together than lol. I'm going to call T3 and see if they have ever had a set of rear coilovers on our type of rear end setup. I think that relocation mount might be the fix for us.

I opted the "easy" way out after we had trouble with the lenses cracking and being brittle on reinstall. I went and bought new taillights (left assembly, right assembly, center garnish piece). I had only the center piece prepped and clearcoated with PPG clear. It was than buffed by my detailer and came out how I hoped!
Mazdatrix said they still have new left taillight assemblies in stock, but I'm not sure how many are out there. I was told by Mazdatrix and the Mazda dealer that they can't even get a new right taillight assembly anymore. There's only 4 right side taillight lenses that are left in Mazdas database. I heard they stopped producing right taillights around the mid '90s, but for some reason still have new left taillights left over
Luckily, I was able to come up on a NOS right taillight assembly I found in Australia. Thanks TargaRX for the help in finding these. This completed my puzzle and what the new ones look like installed. I like it much better than the old accidental smoked tails I had. That's all for now.
