FL estevan62274's 1984 Turbo GSL-SE

Been around the RX-7club.com for years and have never made a dedicated build thread for my Turbo GSL-SE.
So here it goes…

But first a quick brief to get you update…

Dec 2004, I bought the car from the original owner in w/64k original miles.
Tornado silver GSL-SE with red leather interior.

First thing I did was install wheels rims...… Enkei RSE 16X7

Enjoyed the **** out of it until I decided I wanted more power. In 2006 I swapped in a stock S5 TII w/ trans and ECU,
Direct Freaks Turbo Fb was my envy and I couldnt resist not going turbo.

Then in 2007 I upgraded the turbo to a GT35R, Haltech E6X and FD UIM/throttle body w/greedy elbow for a cleaner look.

That's it for now, more to come...

Update…

So, In Sept. 2009 I decided to sell my SE so I could pick up a 3rd Gen that I’ve always wanted.

Well I regretted that decision so much.... as much as I loved the FD, I couldn’t stop thinking/missing my first gen.
Now don’t get me wrong the FD is an awesome car and if I could afford both then I would have just kept my SE form the start.
After having 5 FB's, I just realized that I’m a FB guy at heart.

In 2011, I sold the FD and picked up a RX-8 w/REW swap( kid friendly )

Then in Jan 2012 I received a call from my friend that bought my SE from the person(Mike) that I sold it to back in 09.

I knew he had the car and he was very happy with it but he was moving and already had 2 other rotarys(FB & FD).
So, he asked if I wanted to buy my old SE back. I was like HELL YA!!

Here's a link to a thread I made when i bought her back.

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-non-...gsl-se-985332/

Well this pretty much brings this thread up to date.

She's currently being torn down, rear iron is cracked.

While its apart im going to clean up the engine bay and do some other performace goodies

Dont feel bad I'm the same way. I have a FB, FC vert and a TII, and a FD. Still enjoy driving the FB most.

In your first FB with the stock TII motor. How difficult was the wiring harness to deal with ? Did it maintain the BAC, ACV, etc..

I ask because right now I am prepping an 83 chassis for a TII Rtek 2.1 setup. The FB, and TII harnesses are next on my list to sort through.

Awesome stable of cars! Wish I could one of each generation RX-7

Its been awhile but I used the wiring diagrams that rex4life's posted in his TII FB build thread.
Check out his thread, hes has all the info in it.

I hope that helps you. g/l

Aiming for 450-500 to the wheels but I'm really not fixated on a set number.
It's a weekend fun car now that will see some track time.
She's a super slow moving project, as time a funds allow

That's awesome u got your old car back.

What is the stock TII intercooler piping size? Reason I ask is to see if you have any concerns with the 2.5" inlet/outlet. I'm planning on an REW swap and stock, it uses 2.75 so trying to find intercooler with that size.

I noticed the intake port on the (red) front iron looks bigger than the rear? Or is it just the camera angle?

Also, why does the exhaust manifold have a little section missing at the division?
