the car is a little rough however it's in pretty good shape and has relatively low miles. i haven't checked compression yet, but i took the plugs out and turned it over and it sounds very strong so i'm sure it will be burning my eyes very soon lol

someone bought the wrong color vinyl spray, but yeah other than that i think you have all the pieces to make it really nice.

if it was mine i'd restore it to 100% stock, except with panasports, and maybe exhaust...

well i have a GSL that i'm kinda restoring that's here in the build section so i might swap a few pieces over to that one. eventually this will end up being my new widebody car, but for now i'm going to clean it up and drive it.

glovebox light indicates a GS model. S models had no glovebox light. most people will add the aluminum wheels and can add power mirrors easily, but most don't monkey with with swapping out a glovebox light. i'm thinking it may actually be a GS after a second look and hearing about the glovebox light on your car. either way, nice score on the car!

How about a swaybar no swaybar in the rear? Will that answer if its s or gs like in SA's?

i'm pretty sure that is an SA air dam! not sure how they got it, but it's awesome lol.

Curtis i'm pulling the car apart now to go through it and take care of any surface rust right away so when go crazy and make it a widebody i have less to worry about lmao

nope, all 85's had the rear sway bar.. the S model lacked:

-aluminum wheels
-glove box light
-rear cargo light
-power mirrors

the GS hat the three latter features but did lack the aluminum wheels, though most dealers installed them or ordered the 7's with them. not only to turn an extra profit, but because they were a good choice. the a/c and the aluminum wheels were options for both the S and the GS.

thanks Dave!

I've started if successfully a hand full of times and it runs great. The throttle linkage is messed up and not working properly and the carb isn't getting gas even though the new pump is clearly working. I'm taking the interior out to get rid of the surface rust while it's early lol

you may want to remove the tank and see if the gas has carmelized and clogged the pickup, pickup strainer or has left a layer of sediment on the bottom of the tank causing fuel flow issues. check the fuel filter and see if it has sediment in it or if its clogged.

once you determine the tank situation and the filter situation, and before you reinstall the tank, see if you can blow through the feed line from the carb back to the tank. this will let you know if gas has hardened in the fuel feed line.

finally, or before all of the process i listed, remove the feed line from the carb and place it in a suitable container. crank the engine and see how fuel is flowing up to the carb. if the flow is good and the gas is clear, don't bother dropping the tank. if everything looks good up to the carb, then it looks like its carb rebuild time!

from what the guy said he had a shop rebuild the carb........ that he spent $450 on! i know he was spraying all kinds of crap into the top of the carb to get it to run so every time i start it it smokes out the garage and stinks like crap, but it runs well lmao.

not really sure about this one yet!

the car will eventually be painted and refined, but i figured i'd mess with it a little just to see what i liked or not.
