After a year of ownership I started getting random overheating issues after using the car all day it is fine then next thing it overheats.
Turns out one of the waterseals have gone causing the overheating and spilling of water out the overflow tank when switching the car off.
Motor is partially stripped down so far. Will have the engine out in the next few weeks ready to be sent in by January for full rebuild which will include large dowels, oil mod, full bridgeport, 1600cc secondary injectors etc.
While engine is out pipes will be polished and hoses replaced as well as spraying the engine bay flat black.
Plans besides the engine for the next few months:
- Bee*R power builder (Purchased)
- Polished Intake manifold and other odds and ends
- New pulley kit
- Pineapple racing idler pulley
- Carbon spoiler blade
- Carbon fender ducts
- FEED knock off FRP sideskirts (Purchased)
- Prosport quadpod
- New Boost, Fuel press, Water temp, and Wideband gauges
- Hot water labs reverse lights
- Hot Water labs Bumper guard
- NRG quick release
- Nardi/Personal grinta steering wheel
- Modify Koni strutts to go abit lower
- Rear RE-A replica rear diffuser
- Neochrome lug nuts
- Takata harnesses
- Sleepy eye controller
Thats it for now guys

The tuner scene is alive this side but more the new cars getting modded like the Audi RS3, Golf GTI etc
There are a few rotary tuners around here and quite a few rx7's
Here is a vid of the most well known rotary tuner

I had the same problem here in Canada. I had to order all my parts from the states. Its really shitty especially because we have really high duty frees here. My advice when you order something, make sure to tell the seller to put lower value than actual cost on the customs form. This way you pay less duties on your parts.

Another South African! Man, you guys need a sub-section. That 8-second car is pretty wild too. Do you guys have meets much? If I come out in June/ July I'd like to see some of these rides in person.

Boost is at .8 bar as I bought the car with it boosting .4bar
I turned the boost up by changing the vacuum line on to a different nipple on the synapse wastegate.
After engine rebuild we will be connecting the Greddy boost controller and cranking up the boost.
Its just been kept at .8 bar for safety reasons as most tuners dont like to tune the Apexi power FC over here.

Motor is going to be stripped this weekend and sent in for rebuild on Monday.
Taking my Garrett GT35 in to get modified for bigger wheels tomorrow as well.
Found a nice brand new Carbon bonnet locally I am thinking of picking up!

Update time !!
Engine was stripped and came accross a few things that werent looking like they are supposed to be
Worn housing
Cheap mazda coolant seals seen better days
Bearing is toast
Corner seal broken
Spent the morning yesterday building this bad boy
That wheelgap though
So engine has gone in for engineering and dowelling. Engine should be built in 2-3 weeks
Also purchased this HKS twin plate clutch
