While at the Mazda Dealership picking up my idler pulley assembly because it was squealing, I ran into another 3rd gen. Builder who lives in cocoa beach. Danny is building a 525hp single turbo street port? And it was fun hanging out at marks place as we installed my pineapple racing idler pulley, Mazda idler pulley, and also the oil pressure sending unit.

So now my oil pressure is now working as it should.

Installed a new oil pressure sending unit with the pineapple racing idler in addition to the new oem Mazda idler pulley.

Here is a new video of the DeLand airstrip autocross. It was super dirty and dusty. I spun out the first two runs trying to test the road out. The last two runs I hit a cone each time.
Over all I kept both hands on the wheel and not the shifter. I also tried to not keep my foot on the clutch and off it.

Tomorrow I will be ordering brand new oem seals for the entire car to finally get painted. I was estimated about 1600 just for the seals and weather stripping.

Now I am going to need to purchase a brand new bumper because my current one has waves in it.

I will be painting it with a high quality paint to give it a rich tone and smoothing out the rocker panels.

I haven't decided of I want oem badges for a 93/ updated badges like the s7-s8/ or go with red badges to contrast the montego blue. I don't think if I did a different set of badges it would hurt the cars authenticity.

I will be having the tail lights polished in addition to the rest of the work. Both hatch and front windshields will be removed.

Upon thinking more into this, I was contemplating having the engine pulled to paint the engine bay. While the engine was out, it would have some work done to it like clutch and flywheel, stainless steel clutch line, new slave, Mazda competition motor mounts, new radiator hoses, and possibly a turbo rebuild. We don't know what it'll cost to have to motor pulled.

Doing all of these things would be my perfect job. Well pulling the motor part and rebuilding the turbos.

Be careful, this can turn into a "while you're in there" REALLY fast. Problem with that is you keep adding stuff to do, costs pile up, work piles up, and you end up with a parts car.

I would have the exterior repainted, but leave the motor as-is for now. When the time comes and the motor needs to be rebuilt, THEN I would pull the motor, have the engine bay painted, etc.

It's not going to be much more of a problem or expense to have the engine bay painted down the road as opposed to now.

If you want a compromise, have just the strut towers painted. The rest of the engine bay can be masked off. Having fresh paint there really makes a difference and you aren't in for a full engine pull and everything.

Thanks Dale for the suggestion. We are probably going forward with what you just mentioned and your right. Smaller steps will get me to the place I want to be at instead of long strides with potentionally more problems.

Mark and I took a test drive in the car yesterday evening to get a feel of how the car is doing. We tested the boost since the car does not have a boost gauge to see what it is that is causing a lack of power.

We are reading at wot 6 psi and dropping to 5 psi. We are also hearing the stock Bov hiss longer then what we believe it should.

We have come to the conclusion but not verified 100% if its the Air bypass valve that is the top Bov or the back Bov/bottom Control Relief Valve.

Moving further into replacement plans....

If its either or I was going to replace both with new mazda oem parts. If mazda no longer makes the part, what is a good Oem replacement for a stock Rx7?

Btw work done on the car as follows...

Pettit intakes, Megan racing downpipe, Airpump delete, Warm up idle delete.

Today I picked up all of the RX7 has for weather stripping and the hood heat shield. I'm placing one more order for the car which will take a month to receive.

I think I got everything for this paint job that is costing me 2/3rds of what I paid for the car. Seals, plastics, paintjob, and a special front end.

Yeah I suffered from the sun beaming down on my head. I don't fit coreectly even sitting with it open upright. I'm too tall so the couple little inches that I can get, I'm trying to use. I can't wait to get a actual seat.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a new mazda symbol that will fit the Spec bumper and the 93 stock rear bumper and also the decals? Also the front license plate reading RX7?

If I ordered the 93 bumper clips from mazda, will it work on the 99?

Clutch is starting to slip. Reason why I think it is, because when I'm under load wot and hitting boost, the cars rpms Rev high but I'm not physically going somewhere until the clutch gains traction and then goes. My synopsis

So I'm ordering brand new oem

Clutch master
Clutch cylinder
Pilot bearing/ seal
SS clutch line
Fork (not sure if I need it)
Exedy Clutch (hope it does well for constant autocross)
Act Prolite flywheel
Automatic transmission counterweight

^ That all looks good. The Exedy Stage 1 clutch is what I have in my car as well as the ACT Prolite flywheel, it's a winning combo.

Might not be a bad idea to throw a new rear main seal in while you have the trans out and the flywheel off. Think they're super cheap.

So I picked up my car yesterday and funny enough, I stalled a couple times. I love how it feels. I used to have a spec 6 puck sprung clutch with a fidanza flywheel which was very responsive and engaged harshly. Lots of people stalled that combo in my turbo Miata. But this feels fun, responsive, quick engagement, and wanting to go. The cars acceleration is amazing with the clutch and flywheel. I'm loving it.

Glad you like it! I'm really happy with the Exedy Stage 1, it is easy to drive and doesn't wear your leg out.

You're probably just getting used to driving a car with a good clutch. A worn clutch usually has a higher engagement point on the pedal.

That's a quality setup that will hold the power and also work perfectly for years to come.

Dale my clutch engagement was at the very top just like you mentioned. It was quite uncomfortable and I always wondered why until the Mazda technician and I were talking about the clutch rebuild and I explained every detail I could.

All in all, your right about the clutch and flywheel combo. While they were doing so, I had them wrap my downpipe with heat wrap and tie it with ss zip ties
