Quickie... pulled the car out for the first time in half a year to get some gas. Then it promptly went back inside

More updates... detailed write up will be posted to my website Grand Mighty shortly.

oCarbon finished the carbon job on my driver side door trim and ESH Upholstering, who also did the Alcantara wrap on the door cards, was able to get it back together for me.

Metal door cups:

Installed:

Lots of Alcantara now:

Ordered an RE-Amemiya diffuser from Japan a few months ago and got it installed.

Really digging all the latest changes Eric, in particular Alex and Austin at ESH have really stepped up to fill a void in the FD community..... every product they turn out looks just amazing

Which catback exhaust is that?

Gracias Amigo, and yes, the good folks at ESH are a real asset. They do great work and, better yet, turn it around in an expedient fashion.

The exhaust is all custom. I took inspiration from the Buddy Club Spec II when having it made, but really it's just a big *** pipe. There is a muffler mounted more inboard.

Needs a Ronin rear end or better exhaust clearance so you can put on a real import exhaust.

That is definitely in the plans and in the scheme of future optimizations, but isn't a huge priority at the moment. The point is moot until I also do something different with the long tube headers, because they are the ones scraping everything at the moment. The rear end of the car isn't too bad.

If you must know, I was over that with just the dash rewrap and seats, and that was before also having the seat covers redone in black alcantara

I'm surprised you haven't done LED interior lights yet. On my previous FD I had them and liked them.

Yeah the long tubes... one of the things I loathed about the swap. Always scraping on everything. The other was the clunky T-56.

LOL.... you ***** are crazy!!!!!!!

Eric's car will likely have a 3 or 4 rotor in it in 3 or 4 years

The man 1st wants a bone stock FD, then highly modded single turbo, then v8, next 3 or 4 rotor

I'd say Eric has an easy 100k into this car.

What headers are they? 1-3/4" or the 1-7/8"? I know people with the later have had scraping issues.

I don't think he'll settle for a 3-Rotor, it'll definitely be a 4-Rotor ... but will it be N/A or maybe an eBooster® single Turbo?

I have a TR6060 and honestly have no complaints about its shifting. Paired with the MGW short shifter, the engagement is short and crisp. I never felt how the older T56s shift in person, but I did hear they are quite truck like.

I finally added up the major items done to the car, and your quoted figure is surprisingly accurate... not sure if that's a good or bad thing

They are 1-3/4", but no matter how you slice it, long tube headers merge and wrap underneath the subframe and will always have poor clearance... unless you have 1" primaries, maybe.

I wouldn't mind a ***** out NA 3-Rotor, but pairing up a non-sequential to keep up with its revs would be tricky.

Anyway, more updates.

Alignment:

Oil change:

Cluster reinstalled and back online:

Interior:

New MOMO Mod 88 steering wheel with a Red Mazdaspeed horn button:

Dank. Since the oil cooler ducts don't do anything now, what's the over/under on turning them into super boss brake duct inlets?

Metal door cups?!

Hey all,

bump from the dead because I can't find this information elsewhere after much googling. I can't believe no one jumped on Eric's comment about "metal door cups". Hither art these works of magic?! I can't find where to get em'! Please folks, I'm trying to restore my ever-broken FD... broken like my hopes and dreams sigh...
