So its been quite some time since my last update, and to be honest not to much has gone on. The weather hasn't been to great and work has kept me pretty busy upto the start of the F1 season.
I have managed to order more parts though and done a little work, so here we go:-
Sakebomb Garage oil cooler kit:-
SakeBomb Garage Braided brake and clutch lines:-

Managed a little time on the car yesterday, so i decided to try to fit the modified FEED tow hook (took a little while to modify as the welder at work was pretty busy).
Pretty pleased with how it all goes together so now they have all been removed and sprayed black.
Also had a go at fitting the new oil coolers:-
Very easy to fit as the kit comes with everything you need (except in my case, where I am a couple of bolts and spacers missing so I can only fit one cooler for now).

So little update, had another delivery today, a set of Titanium engine bay dress up bolts:-
Will fit these at the end (hopefully I won't forget I have them)....
Also managed to sort out the HKS rear radiator mounting brackets, for some reason they came supplied with 27mm holes for the Rad rubber mounts which are 20mm dia. Fitted a pair of 25mm conduit bushes with locknuts, seem to be a perfect fit and also spread the load over the length of the bush.
Sprayed up the HKS Vmount brackets and modified FEED tow hook, so these are now fitted:-
Also messaged Heath from Sakebomb Garage on Sunday to let them know about the parts that were missing from the oil cooler kit. I was surprised to get a message back over the weekend, they have already shipped the parts out to my Sister in Columbus Indiana ready for my parents to bring back next week. Cannot fault the service from Sakebomb Garage, really impressed with there speedy response and service!

So things have started to happen again as we have had a bit of decent weather recently.
Engine rebuild kit and SCR seals have been dropped off at Oldone's for Era to start on the rebuild of my ported motor.
My old engine has been removed (now that I have an engine hoist to trip over in the garage).
Plenty of space in there now (but not so much in the garage).
Steering rack heat shield has been fitted (now painted and reflective tape added too).
And also a delivery from Carshop Glow, set of wing vents to aid air passing through the oil coolers (also to look awesome).

Been a while since m last update and quite a lot has gone on over the last 6 weeks or so. Lets see if I can bring this thread upto date:-
I had a call at the start of August to say my engine was ready for collection, so off down to Oldones I went. After spending the morning chatting to Era I came home with this Street ported engine:-
It was soon sprayed completely black and was ready to drop in. For w few days we enjoyed a typical British summer and suffered a little rain so I found a few jobs I could do inside the house:-
Underside of UIM covered in heat reflective tape
And also manifold side of LIM covered in heat reflective tape
A sunny spell meant I could drop the engine in place, it came out again as the engine mounts didn't quite line up with the subframe bolt holes.
And there she is sitting pretty.
Had delivery of the high RPM starter motor so that went in when the gearbox was bolted up:-

Power steering assembly was fitted (slight issue with the alternator belt as the DM pulley is a fraction bigger, a new belt has been ordered).
AEM coils and DM relocation bracket fitted and wired in
Gearbox brace fitted
New plugs and leads all fitted
On went the injectors and rails, slight issue with the Primary rail sitting high which was quickly resolved by removing 5mm from the rail legs.

Test fit of the turbo/manifold and down pipe
Revealed a slight alignment issue:-
A quick trip down to Jamsport soon sorted it out and also plumbed in the wastegate back into the downpipe
So on it all went and sealed with silicon exhaust paste, fitted perfectly (downpipe wrapped in titanium heat wrap)

Radiator and pump pipework all connected
Now for what I have been waiting for on went the intercooler, this HKS cooler is a big bit of kit.
Not connected the UIM side as it needs to come off again to connect a couple of hoses and cables
All a good fit from the front too
Just received a Setrab oil cooler for the power steering unit, now in the process of making brackets for it so it can be mounted to the slam panel plate
So I think that pretty much brings you upto date, still got a few things to sort out before thinking of powering up (Battery relocation (Have a Varley 30 to find a home for), need to connect up EWP and Boost controller wiring, Vac lines to sort out an fill with fluids.

Been a couple of weeks and had a little time in the garage while the weather was good. Managed to remove the aircon heat exchanger to save a little in car weight.
A couple of Facebook FD owners let me know I had connected the EWP to pump the wrong way through the car so off it came and was relocated (turns out it looks a lot tidier where it ended up so a bit of a result).
HKS bracket was modified again to allow pump to be fitted
New bracket made to support radiator
Pipework reconnected where pump used to sit
