Overnight parts from RHDJAPAN.com Seriously, they came over night.

New rear wide fenders (+25mm), authentic RE-Amemiya headlights and a few other things crossed the pond. This should do it for exterior parts needed to finish the car. Ohh wait, I still need a GT wing and sunroof plug. lol

There's still a long laundry list of things that need to get done, but I couldn't be happier that it's in Chips hands now. He really shares our passion for rotaries and is as OCD as I am, so I know the small details will be focused on.

Anyway, to let the cat out of the bag, my plan is to re-create something like the CC FD in Japan. I've always loved this car and with the recent influx of RE-Amemiya ADGT cars I really wanted to do something different. I still love the ADGT kit, but some good friends (RTT) were right, the car needs to be unique here in the US. There will be some custom tweaks to suit my personal taste that I think will make for a perfectly executed FD for me.

Isn't it easier just to trade for a different roller?

You must have an account with them. I'm not sure if Ray stocks these.

Yup. I'm sure he will.

Nope. FD's are pretty rare in California. No one here wants to mess with them considering our stricter emission laws. Flying to a different state to check one out to see if it has a straight frame when I already had one with a perfectly clean title/frame was much easier.

This.
Would love to ditch my sunroof, finding a base/r1/r2 is getting hard.

How much did it set you back? Did it come bent up on the corner? Simple fix, but annoying since its new...

The sunroof delete is awesome. I just saw an FD when I was at IRP porting an engine the other weekend---- you can't tell the car originally had a sunroof.

I'm told the part is only ~$185, and the complete conversion to include paint etc ran ~$1200. Sounds like a winner to me

Mike, really stoked to see how your FD progresses

Mine is the car Rich saw at IRP... and yes, you do need to have the windshield pulled (replaced if it breaks, which it can). My car wasn't started as a roller, so I couldn't go that route.

I don't recall the window being $100, I've broken them before.

Thanks Rich. Me too. Just waiting for Chip to hire some help. Not much left to go. The cars all cut up right now and getting prepped for primer. Looking for a trans kit that's not a T56 and will still hold the power. A lot of guys are swearing by the CD009 350z trans. At $500 a pop it's appealing. After that I just need to buy my Motec M84. I can almost smell the oil burning now.

Roof is cut. Cutting and welding rear 1/4's next. Had to stop and order some cross member bars for roof support.

Exterior and engine bay fully chemical stripped. I hate seeing her like this, but she'll be sexy again soon. haha
