93 Base 20B GT42R Project PART 4... Time to Get Serious...
So I parted most of my RX7 out. I am keeping my built FORD rearend, most of the interior, and custom 6-point roll cage. Pretty much everything else is being replaced, removed, or modified in some way. I stripped out most of the car in one weekend in September, because I was home from school in Florida for the weekend. I just got back to St. Louis four days ago and removed the dash and interior. I am currently doing a wire tuck, fuse box relocation, and removing junk from the interior. I am keeping my heater core, and fan blower. Also a few years ago I removed the entire AC system including gutting the evaporator. I just removed the thick rubber mat from the firewall and some of the tar in the rear hatch area. I still need to finish removing the rest of it. I also removed the entire airbag system including the wiring and computer. I put all of that junk in a box and so far it weighs just over 20 pounds. Also right now I am relocating all three fuse/relay boxes from under the hood to under the driver side rear bin. I am also relocating the 4 fan relays to the same location. My dad is an electrican so I have access to all of the wire that I need. Basically all I am doing is cutting the wires, and soldering pieces of wire onto the ends. Then I am making my own new wire harness to lengthen them into the cabin behind the driver seat. Then I am soldering on the fusebox/relays. Not too hard but very time consuming. Along the way I elminated alot of junk that I didnt need anymore. There is no point running new wire back to the rear for the ABS, SRS, horns, etc. when I don't even have them. For those wires I just clipped the ends and heat shrinked them to form a cap. The pictures below are kinda sloppy but I am not finished yet. Once its all done I am zip tying/wire looming everything back up nicely.
Then my car is going to a number of shops for things that I can't do. First it has to go to a fabrication shop in St. Louis for the fuel cell setup. I am having the rear metal "floor" cut out and a nice flat sheet of sheet metal welded back in to mount the fuel cell to. Then the car is going to my uncle's shop where the body work and paint will be done. He is my uncle so I am getting a pretty good deal. I will post more pictures on that later but here are some pictures of my car's current condition. Again, I am in the middle of the wire tuck.
For reference, here is the first 3 buildup threads on my car:

The box full of junk wiring, SRS airbag system, relays and fuses, rubber mat, sound deadening material, and tar that I have removed so far. It already weighs over 20 pounds!

The two blue 4 gauge wires are for my alternator and starter. The clear 4 gauge wire is for my battery. The alternator and battery wires loop around the abck of the hatch because I have to run a kill switch to be NHRA legal. I still need to clean things up a bit and put the interior back in but its almost there.

Is this in St.Louis or down in FL? I hope it's in St.Louis so I can see it once it's finished. Yeah, I know probably take you a long time, but still!
Good luck and keep at it.

This car is at my parent's house in STL. I live in FL for school but decided to do this over Christmas break. My dad is very happy about my decision, especially the fact that it is taking up the entire garage. I think that is why he is helping me. Anyway, you can come check it out anytime I am home. It probaby wont look like anything until this summer when I return to STL with a bunch of parts and maybe a motor.

In the burnout box...

So is it going to be a 42R or the 47R? You're crazy for wanting that much power. You were pretty conservative with the boost on the 42R on your half bridge. How much boost will you be pushing on this motor? Good luck to you on this. There's a lot of people out there that want to do/attempt this

Not really, the stock alternator wire is made of two 10 gauge wires. I replaced them with a longer 4 gauge wire. So if I get a 1 volt drop in voltage over the additional 10 feet of wire, I will be ok. 10 gauge wire is rated for 30 amps and 4 gauge is rated for 125 amps. Double the stock 10 gauge to 60 amps and I still am covered. This is all coming from my dad who has been an electrican for years.

I will definitely have to subscribe to this thread to keep up with everything. Good luck on it all. Just drop me a PM when you are back in town and I will have to check it out.

So the wire tuck is 100% finished. My odometer lights up but won't read any numbers??? Everything else seems to work SO FAR... I put some more body pieces on. Note that the Burnout front bumper is only half mounted in the pics. I also got it from Ken at Shine Auto Project. Here are some pictures:
