The material I'm using, "Shouldn't" fade. I've seen a few Integra Type R's on the road and the interiors still look decent. I figured I'd do everything that's hard plastic just to keep the look consistent. Right now the interior is going to be three different blacks. If I don't like the assembled look, black #3 will be converted to the second one.
Yeah I hope it doesn't fade either. I've heard from others that it doesn't, and they were just installing theirs too but said they'd seen others who had done it and theirs were still good. I'll do it for sure if it doesn't fade. I love the look, and it should help kill the glare from the sun bouncing off the stock dash. I forgot you're doing three shades, that should look good, it will break it up some. I think all the same shade would be a bit too much.

Yeah I don't think it would go with your theme that you have planned. I was just thinking as a symbol, a link to your old car and bringing the two together.
I've been wanting to do a suede interior for the longest time, but I've always been concerned with "will it fade" and "how hard will it be to keep clean", and "will it look right". I want to cover all the parts you're covering, save for maybe the kickpanels. Are they putting padding on the hard plastics first or just sticking the suede right to it? Where did you get the material? I think suede covering all the soft parts would look so good if it's done right, like a Lambo inside lol. I can't wait to see yours when it's finished.
Alcantara does NOT fade like most other suedes that are used. It might lighten up over time slightly, but it does not turn purple or brown like 99% of suedes. We have not found another suede that has the durability to the sun/heat like alcantara does. That is why you see it in Lambos and Porsches from the factory lol. As far as keeping it clean, we stock SONAX Alcantara cleaner. It is a foam type cleaner that is safe to use on alcantara and other suedes. You can find it all over the web or pm me and I will sell you some . The important part about suede is to be gentle with it. You can not scrub it. The cleaner pulls the dirt to the surface where you can blot it with a microfiber to remove it from the material.
Certain parts in the interior get padding and certain don't. The headliner, trans tunnel cover, and a pillars have padding for example. Pieces like the b pillars, bins, rear divider and door panels don't get padding though. The alcantara is glued directly to the factory panel. It is a process to get it to stick to the factory panels, but once its on there it looks amazing.

While I'm waiting for all these "new" parts, I decided to get sidetracked and get my reef tank back up and running! I have to keep the family happy while I'm out in the garage

This is turning out a lot better than I originally envisioned. I have a long way to go, but it's great to see progress before I have to stop for a few months when the baby arrives. Hopefully the car will be out of my garage by then, for some additional "features".
I have about a month left before I get my cluster and plastics back. I think I might mock everything up in the basement to get an idea of what it will all look like.
