Buyers beware! lordmcdonough@yahoo.com

Hey guys, just had a forum member or a visitor (not totally sure) attempt to rip me off.

Sent payment for a samberg subframe and other pieces, said it was shipped out and will arrive today. Went dark on his cell phone as soon as I asked for tracking number.

Yes, it's a bit premature, but it has all the signs of a fishy transaction: Requested PayPal as friends and family.
Didn't post in forums that he had one for sale.

Only contact was through a cell number, won't answer calls or text messages.

Thank God I used my credit card, they will protect me 100% with a charge back. Have to wait 15 days though 😠

Info:
Name: Christopher McDonough
Email: lordmcdonough@yahoo.com
Phone: +1 901-410-1354

Be wary.

theo,

Call your CC company ASAP and report a scammer. Don't wait on this. This is a guy who knows how to screw people out of money.

Phone number comes back as a VOIP number, not a landline or cell.

Here's a quick thread I found, same M.O., same contact info.

I can't be sure he is on here or norotors... I do see that he has been through honda-tech too and has tried to scam someone on there with some seats.

Small update:

Credit card company said I have to wait 14 days to allow the merchant time to ship. Ok well I get it.

I did find this:https://www.facebook.com/chris.mcdonough.3511?__nodl

The reason that it is suspicious to me:

He is from Tennessee, same name, and works for FedEx. Only reason I think it is interesting is that when I asked who he shipped it through he said "FedEx, not jewPS" sure it's not a "big" lead, but I found it interesting. I'm going to be calling the FedEx down there and trying to talk to him. I'll give the police in that city a call and see what they can do.

Roller and good fella you guys think I'm digging too deep? Might be the wrong guy? I'm just livid.

I have a feeling it's not the wrong guy, though if it is the right guy, calling down to FEDEX and looking to speak with him will likely not get you very far. Give me a couple days, I'll see what we can find when I shake his tree. Usually, if someone owes you money, you will either get lied to when you talk to them or they wont talk to you at all. I'm gonna try something and I'll let you know what I find.

OK, another little update. I filed a claim of a"transaction made without your knowledge or consent or that was transacted in error."

I feel like I fall into the second part of this claus. But either way, it should lock up his account long enough for me to file the chargeback with the CC.

Anything new and exciting Roller?

You can have people at fedex, but all he would have to say is "that was not me", "must be someone else", or "someone must have used my name". It really would not take much at that point for him to blow you off, and there's really not much that can be said about it.

I've got a line in on something, hoping to hear the result within the next day or two. As soon as I hear something, you'll be the first to know. Guys like this are usually pretty arrogant because they think that distance will keep them anonymous. Somehow, I don't think our friend will feel that way when he gets my message, even if he might not own up to it to me.

More to follow....

Theo,

Starting to get a little interesting, I can't get into too many details right now but did not want you to think I forgot about you. I have reason to believe that the guy I found is the one you're looking for. I've made some moves to force his hand one way or the other, and will get back to you when I see his response. Thanks
