THMotorsports not good to deal with

I would be very careful about dealing with THMotorsports.
They have a inept shipping department that can't cut and paste an address properly so who know where your stuff is going to show up. Also on my last order from them they left part out of the shipment.

I have tried to deal with them though email. They don't seem to want to make good on their commitments.

THMotorsports stay away

Wish I would have seen this thread. Dealing with the same issue. Almost a month after money sent, they haven't even gathered all the parts to complete my order. Customer service told me at first that my order was held up because my coilovers hadn't yet arrived to their warehouse. Odd, because i ordered a brake kit, not any suspension components i told them. he then says sorry we're waiting on the bottle of brake fluid. I got mad at the fact I hadn't been contacted at all in the last month, not just regarding the hold up, but not even a confirmation email or a thank you for your order email. (they did however spam me the day after payment). But I couldn't fathom the idea of holding an order a month for a bottle of brake fluid, something you can get at any gas station. He proceeds to tell me that my stoptech parts took a week to arrive, and that he made a mistake and it was actually the brake lines that were back ordered. Not the fluid...or the coilovers , third time's the charm on the back order story.- to add, the brake lines are their own thmotorsports "brand" of brake line. Why would they allow me to order said brake line if they were currently way wayyy out of stock. Seems odd. I. Cancelled the fluid and the lines and told them to expedite shipping. I was promised a refund on these items, including tax and applicable shipping fees, as well as a tracking number the following morning at the "latest". I said I will have it by morning... At the Latest? I asked, he seconded, at the latest!
That was noon today. We will see how the rest of this pans out.

I have also had a bad experience with THMotorsports, i called to order a apexi gt spec 1 piece exhaust and they put me on hold for a minute and when he came back he said that he couldnt sell it to me for the price they had posted on the website, that is was going to be more, it was $80.00 more. I tried telling him that them having the wrong price on the website wasnt my problem it was their fault having the wrong price posted and he wouldnt come down to the price on the exhaust, I finally talked to a manager who maked it down $40.00, i bought the exhaust and they changed the price on there website after that. and the didnt send the silencer that it said it came with, and they wouldnt send me the apexi silencer that it said it would come with and they sent me a hks chead silencer

You might want to post your experience with the BBB.

In regards to shipping, THMotorsports is a drop shipping company. IIRC, they don't even have a storefront. A lot of drop shipping companies are at the mercy of the original vendor getting things out on time, with the correct parts, and shipped to the correct address.

As for the pricing, things change overnight and sometimes isn't caught before a purchase is made.

I've dealt with THMotorsports numerous times when I was a G35 owner and I NEVER had any problems.

It's unfortunate that some may have had some issues, but I'm sure they'll iron it out.

After dealing with them for a month to try and get my refund for a set of Stance coilovers that I ordered and then cancelled I will never do business with them again.

I bought a HKS twin power from them and then cancelled the order 15 minutes later via 3 emails and a phone call. They told me over the phone that it was cancelled but 2 weeks later I still didn't have a refund. When I emailed them to ask what was up, they told me it was on its way to my house. I was forced to wait for it, send it back, and wait weeks for my refund. Thats what I get for shopping based solely on price.

This is still a business to be avoided.

I ordered a set of black and grey racing seats from them. They sent me red. I checked online and found that they had all the model numbers mixed up on their website. So I sent them a couple e-mails alerting them to the problem and asking for return instructions. This was Friday evening. After getting no reply by Monday evening, I gave them a call. I had to argue with the guy before he would admit that this was their problem. I felt it was a pretty clear case since both the website and the confirmation e-mail they sent me said the seats were black and grey.

I got them to agree to a return at their expense, but they were super slow about responding to e-mails and often wouldn't answer the questions I had asked in their reply. They wouldn't ship me new seats until fedex confirmed that they had picked up what they had sent me, even after I took pics showing them in the original box and plastic. So I finally had to call them again (after they wouldn't answer my questions via e-mail) and cancel the order outright. So two weeks later I'm still sitting here waiting on these red seats to be picked up. THMotorsports still has my money. I'm ordering the seats through another company, and will never do business with these guys again.

I have a feeling this place is just a few guys and a cell phone. If you call their support, you get a guy who is obviously on a cell phone that cuts in and out. THMotorsports is just a middleman for a distributor, and a really bad one at that.

Yes. As I said previously. They're a drop shipping company. They don't carry a stock of anything.

I recently waited a month for a Greddy intake elbow.
Reminds me of dealing with the RX7 Store, same deal.

I've had good and bad experiences with these guys. But I can probably say that about almost every online vendor I've dealt with.

The truth is, when I buy from them, I'm usually shopping on price... so to some degree... what do I expect? As for wait times, these guys AREN'T RX-7 specialists so I wouldn't expect them to stock stuff for a 20 year old, arguably rare car. If I want something quick, Banzai or Pettit or any number of RX-7 specialists is my go to. If I want to save a few bucks and don't mind if it takes some time, TH fits the bill (no pun intended).

What I find odd is the people that say "I placed an order and cancelled 15 minutes later"... why'd you place the order in the first place? I don't think I've ever done that.

I ordered the wrong part by accident and they didn't have the one I actually needed. How is that odd? The logical thing to do is cancel it as soon as I realized to avoid 2 way shipping fees.

Found this thread on a search, so it's old, but I have also had great experience with THMotorsports.

A long while ago, about the time this thread was started, purchased my exedy twin disc clutch from them, and it came as expected, extremely quickly.

I also just placed an order for a BorgWarner turbo from them. The price was incredible ($225 cheaper than anywhere else I could find), I verified the part numbers and info were correct on the website, and it shipped same day. Perhaps if I have any issues, I will update this thread, but I dont expect any issues.

Having said that, I almost always find parts on their site by searching for MFR part number, not by description or catagory searching.

I've never had anything but great service from them. And in regards to the original complaint of a shipping address issue, I just experienced the same with Amazon. I'm a Prime member and we probably make at least 1 order a week from them. It happens to anyone.

They are great unless you need to return something.....
I'd still buy from them but I'd make sure its something I'm using that week. If you find out its the wrong part 3 weeks later (we all have builds), good luck on the return.
Still awesome customer service overall, and definitely great prices.
My rating 8/10
