I only get involved with this since my name has come up and so that everyone is informed.
My name is Billy Waits and I own MRC Manufacturing. ReSpeed was a product line of MRC Manufacturing launched in 2004. The ReSpeed product line was sold in March 2011 to Sam Hammoudeh.
I (nor MRC Manufacturing) have any involvement with the ReSpeed company past March 2011.
I am sorry to hear about the recent events and wish I could offer assistance but I can not.

Billy, so Sam has control of the RE-Speed.com account on the forum? It also appears he goes under 'dj55b' here on his personal account.
I'm one step away from nuking both accounts. The way Sam has handled himself is completely unacceptable.

Back in 2010 I met Sam at Mosport when he came up for a Lapping Day in his 1st Gen. Car had a lot of self fabricated parts on it and seemed well constructed. He told me that he was travelling all over North America driving on different tracks and that he had just got back from Road Atlanta. Seemed like a bit of an eager guy with a "I know more than you" attitude, but a pleasant guy.
He told me at that time that he was starting a Detailing Shop with his brothers and wanted to build up a bank of cars that he had done for his website. So I took a chance and paid him $200 for the Deluxe detailing and polish/wax for my Jaguar XJR. It took a couple of extra days over what he said but the car came back with a decent driveway detailing job. It was okay, but very similar to what I did for myself. He did polish out a few scratches very well, so allin all I was okay with the work, but it wasn't special if you know what I mean.
From what I can tell that business just didn't get off the ground and I guess he moved on to this. The question I have to ask is there a brick and mortar building that he is operating from or is it a situation where he is using a bunch of local businesses and just assembling the stuff in his basement? It would be incredibly easy to loose all control of a business if you had to rely on sub-contractors all the time and maybe this is what is happening.
Anybody from London Ontario go by his place to see? This is not a remotely acceptable way to run a business. At the very least, you have to communicate with your customers and taking money first and not delivering just starts to smell bad.

I've known Sam (on a casual basis) for a few years now. A very nice guy. These threads make me worry about him though, like I'm wondering if he's okay...
Very sorry to hear of the issues everyone is having. I can certainly vouch for the quality of the parts I've used over the years, top notch all the way. I only hope that Sam can restore the levels of customer service that Billy established when the business was his...

Just my $0.02, if anyone paid by credit card through paypal, you can reverse the charges through your credit card company.
Glad I never went in on anything from there.
Reminds me of the CP Racing scam...

I'm long overdue to reply here, and to reply to many customers out there be it via email, PM, phone, facebook. I know from these experience that some of you will almost never trust me again, and I do not blame you for that. If I were in your shoes, I would be doing the exact same thing you are.
Its been hard for me to communicate with all of you guys, because I've been overwhelmed with the amount of people trying to find out where their parts are. And the lack of honest response I've been getting from my machinist.
I've been waiting on parts for well over 3 months and still have not received anything from him, but broken promises every week. And I haven't had the heart to be able to keep on telling you guys that. It seems that for everything ordered, I'm missing one part from him, be it; coil over tops, rear coil overs, big brake hubs, rack and pinion parts ... He already has all the material that I bought him, I already have all your other laser cut parts ready to go, just a matter of waiting on all these little piece for every single order from him.
I sincerely do feel like crap (for a lack of better word) for every day that passes by and I still can't get any of you guys your parts. There are other people out there that have order other things, ie brake lines, shocks, bushings ... that I have been able to turn around as usual.
I'm not here to scam anyone, steal anyone of any money, or anything like that.
Before anyone says anything about getting another machinist to do the CNC work, I have contacted dozens of shops to try and do them, but the cost that most other companies would end up in pretty much me paying more than the cost I sell the parts for. I think the only real solution for me, is to bring that in house, which is what I'm trying to achieve for next year, and would avoid all these delays.
This is where everything is at, and that is the truth, and to pre-answer when I'll be getting everything, he's told me before the end of the year now....

Glad to hear at least you are in good health. Im sure you will be able to turn this around. Your parts are recommended by everyone and with good reason. Look foward to reading the follow ups as this get cleared up and I know they will. Its best that you put it out there that you are having trouble with your machinist...it will resolve quickly I'm sure.

He lives! And he answers the phone!
Hopefully you can get caught up Sam and make everything right!
Thank you for finally answering people. All we wanted was an explanation from the beginning. All of this couldve easily been avoided...
I look forward to my oilneck arriving hopefully soon!

Thanks respeed for the reply. Its a start to a new beginning. Fortunately for me, I got my money back. You ignored your customers, but you also ignored PayPal trying to contact you! Any excuse for deleting queries or negative posts made by your cusomers on the respeed forum? I would need to see more than a single response to trust respeed ever again.
I do hope all others here see their money back or a product. I was lucky I convinced PayPal, against policy, to take my money back from you.

I hope all returns to the standard Billy maintained.
Still doesn't justify the lack of communication, why not advise your clients about the issues you're dealing with "before" taking their money. If I wanted a rack n pinion kit and you took only a deposit stating 6 months production rather than full payment leaving me watch the UPS driver pass by for weeks I would have been okay with it. It's called honest communication.
As for the added cost (loss) of an alternate fabricator, sometime preserving your reputation can be priceless. Sure you can delete posts on your website, but this one will be here a long long time.
As for me, I still have a shitty pair of springs and rear coil over collars that are useless.
Sadly still I recommended the rack n pinion kit to a buyer of my previous gslse this past summer and I know he is about to order it (or may have already ordered it). I really hope things turn around and my advice hold good.

These past couple of months, has made me re think of what might be best over all. I'm considering running a few things as group buys only to ensure parts are available, for the said amount of people. Not sure if this is the best option, but something I've pondered on.
As for deleting the queries/negative posts on my website, although those were true and relevant to online orders (to an extent), I do have local customers that browse through it for other things, and this is not an image that I wanted to add to myself locally and globally. This is something that I think any business owner would do, and not just myself. Truth be told, posting on here, or bigger forums would most likely have a greater effect than on my own forum.
There hasn't been one person that either hasn't received money or parts (granted there might of been a delay). But you can PM or email anyone about that. Like I said, I'm really not here to scam anyone or to try to in anyway.

As for taking the money "before" hand, that is just the way is setup and for that matter a lot of smaller websites are setup as such. Money withdrawn on order, and not on shipment.
To within reason, yes I agree with you that some money lost is what is required sometimes to keep a certain reputation. A good example that I've done to this, is after about a month or so of me taking over from Billy, a forum member had an old 2 piece style oil pedestal that broke, without any real question, I took a 3 hours round trip a few days afterwards and personally gave him the new version of it all free of charge.
I'm not expecting any of these threads to be deleted, nor will I be asking or trying to get them deleted. Its a chapter of my life that has happened, whether I like it or not. I have to look at this as looking where I slipped and not where I fell, and learn from it to move forward. That's the best that I can do from this experience.

Group buy or other setup that controls your suppliers performance and customer expectations will be good in the long run Sam. Try to come up with something. You will have a long term loyal set of customers here for sure, but very price sensitive ( c _ _ _ p? ) looking forward to many more good re-speed purchases like my r and p kit and prototype tank for turbo 79.
