Defined autoworks, issue resolved!!

I didn't want to post this because businesses are a persons bread and butter and allows them to take care of their families but it has come to a point of being ridiculous. For the record I know I may end up being the wrong one when all is said and done.

So hope you take time to read my story and judge for yourselves.

- I live in trinidad and contacted defined autoworks on 17/04/2013 about their subframe kit to mount the 20b on a 3rg gen rx7

- I sent the relevant parts to be modified via DHL and it arrived on the 25/04/2013 and defined autoworks confirmed receiving them.

- full payment was sent to defined autoworks on 03/05/2013 for the base kit and shortened lower intake manifold.

- I sent emalis on 26/06/2013 asking estimated time of completion to which i received no reply and again on the 28/08/2013 to which defined autoworks replied and said its almost finished.

- they were again emailed on the 07/10/2013 and 02/11/2013, no replies. So I called to shop and they said the owner is having family trouble. Understandable.

- after some unanswered emails , they finnaly emailed me and said "some of the parts are on the way" and i did infact receive a package containing the oil pan , the ps rack, mounts, alternator bracket and water neck. Still outstanding intake and ps pump bracket.

- they were again contacted on the 14/03/2014 about the intake and ps pump bracket and stated that his father had died and I extened my condolences, they also stated that the ps pump bracket was sent, I DID NOT TAKE A PICTURE OF THE PACKAGE BECAUSE I DIDNT TINK I WOULD HAVE TO PROVE THAT I RECEIVED THE PS PUMP BRACKET AND I WANT TO STATE FOR THE RECORD I DIDN NOT RECEIVE THAT AND THE INTAKE.

- IT is now 30/05/2014 well over a year since I sent FULL payment and still didnt receive all my stuff.

Its a business you are running and you took all my money up front. It is not my problem that you are busy with you four rotor project. I am very sorry for the loss of you father but you have a comittment to people whose money you already took. I have all the emails saved in case anyone tried to fabricate any fancy stories.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I've kind of learned for a lot of longer term projects to pay as you go. I know some shops hate operating this way, but at least it still provides some motivation to get the job done. Hope you reach some kind of resolution. I've met quite a few people from Trinidad recently and it seems like a really cool scene down there.

Rotary Brain, I have contacted Logan at Defined Autoworks about this matter to see about getting everything settled as promptly as possible. Speaking as one whom also lost a parent in the last year, I can understand just how much it affected me when my mom died. My motivation to do anything on a car was gone, I barely ate and my fiancee had to check on me quite a bit. And then there's the legal matters, going through all of your parent's belongings, and so on.

Logan is a good guy and he will make good on this. He's just had a really full plate recently.

Thanks to Travis and a couple other forum members for alerting me of this post.

In our business, no news is good news. Unfortunately the bad surfaces prior to the good. We have been out of contact with this individual for quite sometime and assumed things were smooth. We apologize for the misunderstanding, in both directions.

Regarding the 4-rotor taking all our time, we wish that was the case!

Not to downplay the OP's frustrations, but I've had nothing but great experiences with Defined Autoworks. Logan is absolutely a stand-up guy.

Sir,

I didnt get a response to my last email sent, I called and didnt know who i spoke to but the person stated the owner has a family emergency which I can understand, that was a month now, my car is in the garage and i am being charged while it sits there. I can understand if u are busy with ur events, your personal project and family issues. Can i at least get the engine mounts and oil pan so i can have the engine installed to get the car out of the garage and begin my manifold fabrication and piping done?

Hope to hear from you.

Vishaal.

Its not difficult to get ahold of me. I have a facebook page that goes directly to me, I have a PM box that notifies me by email and our website that is perfectly active with all the contact info, business phone number and business email. The fact I've received ZERO contact other than being notified of a response on this post ( I'm subscribed to it) I simply assumed you received that parts finally.

SO here is the deal-

I'm in no way shape of form a scam artist or foul play person. Your parts were sent out a LONG time ago. Looks like they are lost forever. Since they have been sent out, I obviously cannot return them to you and offer a refund.

I will however start to make another intake and p/s bracket and notify you before I even send it to verify all the details. I'm not going to take another loss. My apologies that the USPS service is near worthless for international shipping.

I WILL HOWEVER MAKE THIS RIGHT. Its what I do.

Again sorry for all the insanity. Give me a few weeks, I would however like this thread to be removed. If for whatever reason I don't pull through just make another thread stating how terrible my business is. It will be a shinning example as the only one.

Thank you

Why would anyone send a package or parts international using USPS, knowing that you can't track it. I'm sure you guys know better than that.

USPS Tracking is fine and works regardless of destination. I've received parts from different countries via Priority Mail with no fuss and saw it tracked every step of the way via the Deliveries android app. Chances are that this instance of losing a package was an extremely rare quirk. Have you tried calling the Customs Office? That's where I'd look first.

+9000 here. Logan is a stand up guy, and it shows by gestures like this. With that in mind, I'm siding with Logan on this one as I would have been been calling every logical person associated with USPS, the local postal service, customs, etc to find said intake after 2 days beyond the expected delivery date.

Per forum policy, this thread will remain as it is untill resolution is made. Upon such, I will gladly have it altered to reflect the resolution and move it to the proper section to show good faith from Defined Autoworks in face of adversity.

Just to clarify that statement, I emailed you on 03/15/2014 and the 09/03/2014 to your business adress , the same adress we done bussiness and replied to all my other emails but i received no responce. I have kept all my emails sent to nand received by you. To say you received "ZERO" contact i take offence. I didnt contact you via facebook because It is my opinion that one should not do business on facebook and I didnt call because although I speak english when I call north american tend not to understand my dialect that is attacted to my english. Hence i Posted all emails to and fort above so ppl can see I was not lieing and i have no problem forwarding it to you so you can see for urself. On another note I wasnt persistent with my quest to get information about my parts because I had no use for them anymore as I had to go another directions after it took you more than a year to send some of my parts when you stated it would take 6 weeks. I work hard for my money I am glad you see it fit to have it rectified.

thanks

I have been using usps international for over a decade (tens of boxes a month) and the worst thing was a 40 day delay. I even had a package shipped to kenya which was supposed to go to europe and i called usps on Friday and monday the box was in the right destination. I dont have any shares with usps by any means but somethings not right

I'm currently waiting on USPS to find a set of control arms I purchased from a fellow forum member in Japan. I have hours into sitting around and waiting at the post office/talking to management over the course of the last months, and I still don't have my parts. So this scenario wouldn't surprise me, given my most recent experiences.

Actually, priority mail does allow you to track shipments, but I believe you are correct if you don't select priority.

Not for international, you need Express to have a tracking # on international shipment, at least for shipping out of US it is.

I've had good luck with USPS Priority, shipping parts to Europe, Africa and Asia without any issue.

This Thread will NOT be deleted as it stands for Reference.(ANY thread in this section is NEVER deleted)
In this case there was a dispute and it was "Resolved".

Many other cases do not get resolved and it is good to have a reference as to who takes care of business and who does not.
In this case it was done "correctly".

So,Thanks Guys.
