I auto tuned a SMC last night with my Innovate LM-1 and the chip in this ECU was a 1.99 ! Bought last week of a NSW Autronic Agent............. wonder why they are not available yet ????

BTW the LM-1 performed faster than a "previous loan" B-Model Autronic meter and gave the yellow box followed by the green after the set accuracy had been reached (3% set point AFR table) in the autotune menu.

Not bad for a $349USD meter and $49USD Autronic compatible floating ground cable The workshop I did the job for was amazed and thanked me for savign them $3000Aus for not needing to go buy an overpriced B model *rip off* EUGO exhaust gas analyser.

peter,

The 1.99 chip for the SMC is different and that has been available for quite some time already.

I'll get a exact date for 1.99 SM2 chips soon.

Yes Peter i agree the LM-1 is great and at that price it's hard to beat.
but myself i like NTK over the LSU.

Well I've been testing the new 1.99 chip for the SM2 and it works very nicely.

Do you have to run all four injectors at the same size and where's the best place to purchase one?

It is highly reccomended, damn near a must, to run 4 of the same size/type injectors. I run four 1200cc injectors that I bought from Marren. You cannot feel the transition at all when the secondaries come in.

I may need verification on this, but, I think because of idiots like me, the dealers are not allowed to sell over the counter anymore here in the US Sorry guys. Dealers confirm?

I'm very interested in this ecu for my future. I had a haltech running on my old setup and it worked fine, but it seems like the autronic is something that is highly reccomended in the land down under and also has compatabilities for WI. Does anyone know how much they go for in USD, and how much the new autotune chip is? I am hoping to have my motor done and finished by the end of the summer, and then after that working the money for the new ecu, but I would like to get as much information as I can from current users about how it works and their opinions of it. Thanks guys.

Will this new chip allow for the STock ignition system to be used and the CAS For us FC owners? I have been concidering using this system but the Before mentioned things strayed me away from it, I didn't really want to purchase a seperate set of coils and EGI.
If not as it stands with this new chip what would it take for me to install an Auctronic into my FC.

With the 1.49 and 1.99 SM2 chips you can use the stock FC CAS. No problem there and no need to modify it. You will need a reluctor interface to convert the signal into square wave, but that's just an electrical problem (autronic makes this little black box). The stock coils can be used too, but you will have to trig them with some other ignitiors or a CDI-unit (Autronic R500 is nice). The stock ignitors requires dwell which the SM2 cant do. Bosch 008 ignitors works fine.

Well, then,
What would the total cost be to install this on my car? (cheapest but reliable to 500hp)
You can see my mods in my sig if you need that info
