QLD Transport

Wondering if anyone has had their vehicle defected. Just bought a 2002 FD with a full Amemiya body kit. Had to take the rear wing off it to pass roadworthy. Obviously, I want to put it back on as it looks great, but don't want to cop a $1000 fine or something. The FD comes stock with a wing, but I have been told its a safety pre-requisite to remove it in case you hit a pedestrian and they rolled over the roof and hit the wing. Although I would think they would be in pretty bad condition by the time they hit the rear wing anyhow Anyone had experience in this area, being that cops are so black and white, or are they showing human traits these days? Can u plead ignorance to them? Thanks

I'm completely ignorant about Australian traffic laws, but in California, you get "fix it tickets". If a cop sees something he doesn't like on your car (exhaust, HID kit, etc) he'll issue you a fix-it ticket. You have to remedy the problem (put your stock exhaust back on) and have the ticket signed off by an officer within a month. If you do, there's no need to go to court. If not, you'll have trouble registering the car later on.

If it's like that in OZ, then just take it off if you get a ticket, have the ticket signed off, then put your wing back on until the next cop's nitpicking on you.
