My new series 8!
Hi Guys. Well I am proud to report that I am the new owner of a 2000 series 8 rs. Haven't actually recieved the car as it is coming down to Melbourne from Brisbane on a truck. I had the car checked out by Mazfix in QLD and it returned a super report. Compression was perfect, not a drop of oil in the engine bay or anywhere under the car, plenty left in the discs/pads, etc. I've always wanted a series 8 as I think they are just the best looking thing to come out of japan. Plus I have always preffered lighter more involving cars (previous car was a mr2 turbo). The rx7 is completely stock which is how it should mostly remain i think. It even has a stock exhaust!! If anything I would improve the cooling with an upgraded intercooler, radiator, oil cooler. Maybe some nice volk ce28ns down the track if i rob a bank, All I have to show so far are these pics from the previous, previous owner, who was in sydney. Enjoy!

It's not that I don't like modifying cars, I'm just a bit worn out from it. My mr2 was very modified (Forged engine, big turbo kit, coilovers, brakes, etc, etc.) and it was awesome, but more and more things went wrong and the cops hated me soooo much, lol. The reason why I went for the FD and especially the RS is that it is already capable enough in its standard guise. I'm soooo excited about seeing/driving it

mine will be in Melb later next year hopefully. I guanntee you will want more power.
The cooling systems in these are *****. Expect around 100 degrees or higher during hot days in traffic. Make before you spend money on rims or such to do the reliability mods, like changing the AST to an aluminium item and get gauges installed.
If you are going to mod, like intercooler, you will need a new tunable ECU before anything else or you run a big risk of running to lean.
Looks great!
