just had a lengthy conversation w James, a Klotz tech.

he strongly suggests switching to Klotz Super Techniplate. 20% bean oil 80% synthetic that mixes w ethanol. almost no build-up.

same wear protection.

sign me up.

A possible alternative to castor oil is this stuff https://www.klotzlube.com/techsheet.asp?ID=51. It specifically states it is compatable with e-85. How effective it is with apex seal lubrication I do not know. I do know a friend is using it in his car but he has only been using it for about 2k mi so I cant really comment on how well it is working for him.

I can say that I am premixing about 1oz per gallon because I still use my OMP.

But what brand of premix are you using? I've been premixing 1.5 OZ on track duty without the OMP.

Almost no build up is hopefully better than what some of us found...but why not use the Redline stuff if there isn't any build up? Seems to be that this film....if used long enough could potentially bind things up.. Maybe work it's way into Seal grooves and end up sticking or binding things up. Don't you think?
