IGN-1A Coil setup for FD.. Finally got it working!

I picked up a set of the IGN-1a coils from Sakebomb for my FD thinking it would be a plug and play affair and things would just work.. well. it didn't.
Sakebomb had no idea how to make it work on aem.
Cludwig was nice enough to take a look at my map to see if he could help even though i didn't buy the set up from him.. (Stand up guy!) but i was still striking out.

EB Turbo had helped me with a few other things on the car.. between his advice and calling AEM numerous times, i think i have it figured out.

the issue was the dwell settings wouldn't seemingly go over 3ms no matter what i did to the map.
the dwell min and max settings were the issue.
EB had me put them at the following-

min- .012
max- 6

voltage vs rpm i set at 50% across the board.

here is where it gets harder to explain...
your Dwell factor is the number that gets multiplied by your dwell vs rpm table... so for my map, i put a dwell factor of 30.
up to 4000 rpm, i set the dwell vs rpm table at 100%.
so 30x100= 3000 micro seconds which is how the aem reads it, which equates to 3ms.
after 4000 rpm, i set the dwell vs rpm table at 150%.
so 30x150= 4500 micro seconds, which equates to 4.5ms.

the car actually pulls cleaner now. still having some other issues, but i think the spark issue should be sorted.
once i fix the other issues i will know for sure.

the above are just my findings. i am not responsible for you using them and or frying your coils.
if anyone sees any issues in my math or logic, please post. i would love to discuss it.

a huge thanks to EB Turbo for helping me with all of this stuff! my car would not be running if it weren't for him!

Good deal! Cody is the AEM wizard. Think he knows the systems better than their own people.

I had went through the math to calculate dwell time on the map you sent me and came up with it already being 4.5ms. Care to send over what you have now so I can check it out and see what I missed?

ill get my other laptop charged and ill get it sent. ill post a screen shot too.

the only thing i changed from the map you saw was the teeth setting at min and max. it worked with those settings.
with the settings i had, the microseconds never got above 3000.
new settings i got to 4500.

This is the formula AEM provided to me when I looked into it last year. It's probably just a more complicated way to get to where you already are so feel free to just take this as an information dump.

Ignition Charge Time = 0.02 * Coil Dwell Factor * (Dwell vs Batt Volts value) * (Dwell vs RPM value) /1000
