GA map senor vacuum port (filter or no filter)

hello guys quick question

iam running the selcect ecu PNP. Iam tring to figure out if I should hook up the map vacuum signal hose to the internal map sensor to the stock vacumm port next to the Idle air valve. or the port closer to the intake for a "cleaner" singal

Or use the stock map port with a fileter to dampen the pulse of the intake.

thanks guys

Use the OEM spot with no external filter. You can actually set the filtering level inside the ecu.

^^ WHAT HE SAID^^

I had success using the OEM nipple and the internal MAP sensor inside the ECU. I used always filter option and my MAP readings were always steady so I never saw the need to use the heavy filter option. I did find that the car was less jumpy and more predictable and low rpm low speed conditions when the always filter was selected instead of the filter above 70 kPa option.

old thread I know but I have an issue here with a S4 bridgeport (no turbo). I had an old S6 select ecu and wired it in. Now no matter which filter option I take the MAP is extremely noise at open throttle positions. this makes the fueling being all over the place. This log for example is using the heavy filter above 70 kPa; but the always filter option doesnt improve things either.

Im using the internal map sensor connected to a nipple on the side of the intake close to where the upper and lower intake is joined

ok it seems the location on the mani plays a huge role. I moved it now to a nipple near the throttle body and its day and night different

In my experience it is always the most stable in the UIM near the TB where the flow is still a single large flowpath and not right on top of a bend or downstream of split like where it goes into the various runners in the UIM/LIM.
