First start with custom 440D patch harness

So on the first try my 1988 Mazda Rx7 TII fired right up. (After fixing some other problems on the car and having it fire on the stock ecu first) Pretty good idle right from the start. Pretty excited to see how well this ECU works. I'm sort of lost on the software as I am used to haltech but looking forward to trying the traction contol/launch control features etc.

Love the Innovative connection into the adaptronic but still need to figure out how to make it displayed properly.

Hi Ian,

Just let me/us know if you have questions on the software. With the MTX-L, you just need to connect the Innovate serial out to the Adaptronic serial in port, using the provided Innovate 3812 cable. Then set the serial in settings to Innovate LM1 LC1 TC4 (special functions). It's also best to have the analogue oxygen sensor set to none (analogue calibrations).

Thanks.

I will have questions on the ignition set up. My setup (not ignition map) looks different then another's on this forum. ie fire every two rotations when another was 3 etc. Once I am in front of my other computer I will post the difference. But mine was set up by adaptronic.

So the reason why my wideband was not displaying on the adaptronic was because the extension wire I bought to extend the stock MTXL output wiring does not connect very well into the adaptronic.

I do have a suggestion. Would be nice if the map would have the file designation saved displayed on the top header. IE if I had two maps one for race fuel and one for street I could tell at a glance. I do know that we can use a switch to automatically switch this but I will probable not have any inputs left.

Hi Ian,
Do you mean the "Minimum periods before generating any outputs" field? That's a setting to make the cranking time uniform, because the time before the ECU sees the trigger reset will vary every time you stop the engine. So yours it should be nyeh-nyeh vroom! And the other one should be a bit longer nyeh-nyeh-nyeh vroom!

I understand what you mean with the file designation.. actually it does appear on the header the first time you load the map into the ECU. But yeah if you're planning to use two sets of maps, then it would be best to use the dual map function and choose between the two using a switch. You could also set a LED on the ECU to light up when you're using the alternate map. Or use the flex fuel feature which is explained in this video -

Hope this helps.
