Would a grounding kit help this?

When lights are on the car surges. Lights "flutter" (brighten and dim) slightly. Motor revs up and down slightly at idle. I do have my battery relocated to passenger storage bin.

i was just thinking about doing this too. i don't have any problems like that or anything but i hear it can't hurt because of the very poor grounds on the car. is there a writeup on the home depot straps? like how to make em and where they go? i swear i remember seeing one but i didnt' think to save it.

First find out where you want to ground the wire on the car's chassis. Find out the size of the bolts you will need, dont forget the length. Measure the length of wire you will need plus a lil extra for bending and looping. Buy some 4 gauge power cable with insulation that can resist high temps. Silicon based are best. Buy some terminal lugs, maybe radio shack, with the correct size stud (usually 1/16" or 1/8" larger then the bolt it termintes to). Get some heat shrink tubing if you like. It will go over the end of the cable and terminal lug, or use electrical tape. Borrow a crimper from Autozone. Get some heavy dudty dikes/cutters or have the cables premeasured and precut for you. Measure the length of cable at the tip that needs to be stripped and use a box cutter to strip the insulation. Slide the lug on the exposed cable until it is a tight fit and crimp it. Depending on the crimper, it might need 1, 2, or 3 crimps. Thats about it.

Here is what you want. This is a thread with a great pic of the HyperGround system

My Hyper Ground System Install with picture.

You save yourself significant money, by just using these pics, and making you own
cables from welding (or other thick) cable and connections, home depot style.
