wont go past 2500rpm

my car wont get past 2500 rpm when i slowly try and press the gas pedal(fully warm).........what happens is it gives a pop (loud one) and rpm drops......however it idles fine by itself........dont have to hold the pedal to make it idle or nething........i still have the precat and the cat convertor.......i know that my plugs are fouled for sure (had to do the atf trick twice to come out of a severe flooding)........and i cleaned my TB recently........would idle adjustments not let the car do that.........moreover i didnt press the pedal hard or nething.......since i wanted to know what that sound might be before i try and throttle the car.........
thanks in advance ppl!

and one more thing........after i turn of the ignition i hear a boiling sound from near the radiators or IC not too sure abt that........i recently did change my coolant?? could it be air trapped inside or something........

Sounds like you have multiple problems.

Your coolant problem is either a leak or air in the system.

The 2500 rpm problem could be a sign that your car is running in sfty mode, or your cat is clogged.
