Question Wire for oil sending unit on oil pan gone ?

Well, just did an oil change and noticed the wire was tore off........gone. What is the purpose of that wire ? My oil gauge still works flawlessly.

We have an oil pressure sensor and an oil level sensor.
Guess which one is torn off.....
