why not a mid-size FMIC?
Why doesn't somebody make a mid-size FMIC, something in between the huge current ones that block so much airflow to the radiator and the SMICs that have various limitations? Or for that matter, why not put a large SMIC as a front mount? That way you would have the benefit of the better cooling for both the I/C and the radiator.

the fact that its a "front mount" is whats blocking the air. Its in the front of the radiator. You might beable to use a smaller core that would leave a inch or so around the core for air to flow but itw ouldnt make a big enough difference. The only middlepoint would be a Horizontal mount. Fabrication on those is pretty easy but I dont think the market is there to support the development to make it worth while.

I made a V-mount st up. It sacrifices some flow to the intercooler, but the radiator gets about the same amount of flow. It is also easier to make the boost tubes, and you can still use a big intercooler. Mine is about 27"x10"x3".

That whole debate about FMIC's blocking air flow to the radiator...I don't get it. I run a border 4 core(5 inch thick core) and don't have a problem with overheating. I have NEVER had a problem with overheating even with the stock radiator(at the time, I was running a FEED IC 4 inch thick).
Most of the problems people have with overheating are the fact that they don't have a way of turning the fan switch on at a lower temp. Stock is 100, 105 and 110 I believe. I have all my fans come on at 87 C.
