Why everyone should test BOV & CRV!!

Hey guys, I've read lost of posts why aftermarket BOV's are a waste of money, but i'm starting to thinks it may be a good investment. Check this out:

Bought a car with blown turbos a few months ago. So i replaced them with a used set with low miles. Since then i had second turbo probs that only got 5 psi after transition. As i was eventually narrowed to prob down to the TCA or the CRV, turbos are starting to blow oil!

While i had the CRV out, i found that it was not holding any pressure. Out of curiousity i pulled the factory BOV(or air bypass valve) out and to my surprise... only holds 4psi?

My conclusion is that my second turbo probs were from a bad CRV venting lots of boost after transition. Anyway I suspect that the poorly functioning bov was making my primary spin overtime to make the 10 psi of boost on the primary. Eventually leading to the wear of the seals.

Anybody have any thoughts on this? Anybody else have tested the pressure on their BOV or CRV. I would be interested to see what others get.

I don't think so. If your CRV was venting all the 2ndary, you'd get a lower pressure after the transition, even if the primary was spinning like a **** (which it is). Take a look at the turbo diagrams. The exhaust can't choose to push the primary turbo faster than the secondary once the prespool control is open. But it's a good theory, you might be on the right track, i just don't think it would be CRV. Although, a fucked BOV could cause some damage since it'll vent everything, but the turbos would still want to make 10lbs. If they're only holding 4psi, replace them.
