What's a normal oil pressure? Maybe this helps...

I hear people asking all the time what kind of oil pressure they should see. Yes, I was one of them long ago. Maybe this is stupid, maybe it's not, but I thought that this photo from the 93 brochure should give a general idea of what it should be. I know this isn't really specific, but I figure if you run the same speed and rpms as in the photo, then a healthy engine should show about the same oil pressure that Mazda does. Like I said, I just threw it up here in case it may assist someone.

I apologize for the poor photo quality. I just didn't want to open up my brochure too much and damage it.

The stock oil pressure sensor is prone to failing. I would just install an aftermarket oil pressure and temperature gauges for piece of mind.

The guy is in third gear btw. I haven't had the connection issue yet so I'd like to beat it to the punch. I assume the best way is to remove the connector and use electrical contact cleaner all over it. Maybe a brass brush also if it will fit. I'm not going to replace my sender unit until it starts acting up.
