waxrod and fast idle cam elimination?

Ok so after some research and advice from everyone I found out that my real problem with my car was the waxrod and fast idle cam.Its sticking and also probably out of adjustment. But being that I agree that reving a cold engine to 3000 grand everytime is detrimental.I would like to remove it completely. What exactly do I need to do in order to eliminate this troublesome system?

If you dont want your idle kicked up when you start, why don't you just tap the gas pedal or start it in gear....it will kill the AWS. your waxrod is kind of important for warmup(IMO, for it to run well as it warms). Does it keep idling at 3000rpm even after you tap the pedal or start it in gear?

Garfinkle removes the wax rod and the cams and the cams shaft . All the hoses and the nipple on the bottom of the throttle body .He will do this for customers if they want and they have a programable ECU .

You do not need a programmable ECU.

Remove it and the car starts up cold at 800 rpm, that's it (assuming you disable AWS or have a PFC).

If you do do this with a PFC, search for threads on "water temp fuel enrichment" - it needs to be bumped up a couple of notches.

Do you have this done? I have EVERY cold start rev the hell out of your engine gadget removed or disabled and it still wants to bump up the idle....and I know i'm not alone

I cant start it in gear because its an automatic. So there goes that fix. Also tapping the gas causes the idle to go nutz.I mean it damn near redlines.Scares the **** outta me everytime.Im going to first try and adjust the waxrod and fast idle am.On pg f 79 of the fsm it show you how.I hope it works. If it doesnt Im going to have to remove the system.
Seriously though. From the sound of things it seems like removing the waxrod and fast idle cam will become troublesome if i do not have a prgramable ecu.Thins is that auto rx 7's cant run the apex power fc.Im glad im going to convert the car to a stick eventually.
