Water Temperatures?

Well guys, i know this has been covered before, but i would like to know what everyones max temperature is? Ive been talking to a friend who told me he maxes 85C.

Mine seems to go up to 105C, and then with the fans coming on, it drops to 95C.

Whats yours?

Will

BWS, have you changed the coolant out on your car lately? checked your water pump? flushed the whole cooling system thoroughly with water to clean out all the gunk? whne i had my FD, it ran anywhere between 85C and 100C depending on the outside temperature and that was with a Koyo inplace of the stock radiator.

there are lots of threads about this and peoples' temps are all over the place. as long as your stay below "safe" (which has as many definitions as there are posts about this topic) you'll be fine. search and read until you're content.

It all depends on your ECU and settings, radiator, thermoswitch, climate, and driving type.

For street driving on a stock cooling system your temps are normal. To reduce the temp where the fans activate, change a 2nd gen RX-7 thermoswitch. I think that answers your question. Max of 85C is relatively low and not normal for a stock cooling system.

Since we have no need today to make another water temp survey, this thread will be closed.
