Walbro for FD???
Was just wandering are there walbro for the FD?
Because me and my cousin was changing one for his
S13 and I was just wandering if there was one for the FD?
If so, where could I find one?

If you plan to modify the car much you'll definatly need one at some point, tho I'd get a denso over the walbro.

sho nuff... tho you wouldn't benefit much from it at stock boost levels. The idea is to add more fuel to allow for more boost No idea what your petitt ECU will support tho, you'd have to talk to them about reccomended boost levels with your ECU. However, if you're going to turn up the boost at all you will DEFINATLY need a fuel pump.

don't get the warlbro they fail.... on my 240 I decided to get the blitz fuel pump for my sr. I hear they tend to fail after a year... plus why sacrifice reliability for $. Your gonna spend more $ if you go the cheap way out

Walbro pumps do not fail more often than any other pump. The problem people have with Walbro pumps is that they don't run well off of the 6 volts the stock wiring puts out at idle.

well I thought the walbro is supposed to be better and more reliable than the stock fuel pump? Plus it'll last longer than the stock fuel pump?

Same exact thing. Used to have one on my DSM, supported a 20g for 8 months, no complaints, except for a sort of loud sound it made on idle, like you were able to hear it pumping. Some liked it, I did not.

I personally run dual walboro pumps and have had no problems whatsoever. I know of 5 walboro pumps here in Okinawa that have been running for over 4 years without any problems. The problem with the walboro is the voltage given to it. If you apply 6 volts to it, it runs like crap. If you apply 12 volts, it runs like a champ. For those people who have had problems with their walboro's, did they run 12 volts to the pump? Guarantee you that if they DID run the proper voltage, they would not have had issues with it.

The FD fuel pump voltage varies that widely? Is there real documented evidence? A 2 volt +/- difference can occur in any automotive system, but 6 volts is not going to happen unless there is a problem or it is by design.

I think it actually is proven, not by me, but by others) that the stock rex puts out from 6-7 volts AT IDLE. After that, i think the difference won't be much. Rewiring the pump connections is always wise.

The Denso is said not to make the car run rich at idle.
IGY why you sai fuel press is raising?
isn't it regulated by the FPR? (that in our cars is double)
so even changing the pump it will keep the same press/fuel rate
I thought that installing a bigger fuel pump will help you not to run lean due to increased duty cycle of the injectors at high revs/boost.
This can be more noticeable if you change the injectors with bigger ones
The pressure is regulated by FPR, the rate is given by the smallest diameter in the line, so i think the car will not need fuel adjustment, apart the case you were running lean due to the pump not supplying enough fuel at high rates.
What do you think?

It's been proven time and again(I know for a fact on Igy's car) that the fuel pressure will go up if you add a fuel pump.
