Turbo Boost Gauge????

WHAT IS THE DIFF. BETWEEN A TURBO BOOST GAUGE AND THE STOCK OIL PRESSURE GAUGE. CAN'T YOU TELL HOW WELL YOU TURBOS ARE WORKING WITH THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE.

The boost gauge shows how much boost the turbo(s) is making. It is tapped into the intake manifold.

The oil pressure gauge shows how much oil pressure the engine has. Its sensor is underneath the oil filter, threaded into the end housing.

These gauges have NOTHING in common. Oil pressure and Boost pressure are quite different. Dont trust the stock gauge for an accurate reading on boost. Actually, dont trust ANY STOCK GAUGES FOR SHIT!!!

And if this is on a FD, You simply need an aftermarket boost gauge. I believe if your stock, the boost pattern should be 10-8-10.

I'd love to hear your theory on how the oil pressure will tell you about the turbos.

SORRY BEING NEW TO THE WORLD OF TURBOS, BUT WHEN I FEEL THE TURBO KICK IN I SEE THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE SPIKE UP. THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE REFERING TO AS MY THEORY. IF I AM WAY OFF SOME ONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS

Oil pressure always goes up when you give a car gas. Even in an NA vehicle. Pressures build inside an engine when power increases, everything inside the engine is speeding up and heating up and that increases pressure. The oil pressure gauge is measuring the pressure of the oil in the engine. This is why your oil pressure is building on acceleration. The boost gauge monitors incoming air pressure. If your turbos weren't working you should still see rising oil pressure in the engine. The two gauges monitor two different sides of the engine. Once you get the boost gauge, it should make it easier to understand. You can then see how your boost is working and if it is where it should be. The boost gauge is a very good tool for troubleshooting power issues with a turbocharged vehicle.

Hope this helps somewhat.

That is not true. I have had NA cars that have oil pressure gauges. Your just not seeing them. They are out there though.

Peszko: Please Stop Shouting (please do not use all UPPERCASE!)
Oil pressure should increase with engine RPM in a fairly linear fashion totally unrelated to Boost Pressure
Many NA cars also have Oil pressure Guages
