For those who have removed the ACV...
When you removed the ACV from the LIM, was the circular valve (about 1" in diameter) sticking out from the body of the ACV, or recessed into the bore? I am wondering because all the pics I've ever seen have the valve recessed. But when I took mine off today (to do the freaking injectors) the valve was sticking out of the bore by about 3/8". Is my ACV busted?

Yep, the air control valve is located on the inner face of the lower intake manifold (LIM) and must be removed to get access to the secondary fuel rail for an injector upgrade. It's obscured by the upper intake manifold (UIM) so you can't really see it, but the venting pipe from the air injection system (the one that goes around the top of the Y-pipe and attaches to the airbox on the upper right) is bolted to the back of the ACV.
Here's a great site that shows how to do the 1300cc upgrade. You can see the ACV removed. Note that the valve is recessed in the bore.
