Testing Throttle Position Sensor
I'm having some idle issues and would like to test the TPS. The manual says to attach the engine signal monitor to the PCME, but the only test equipment that I have is a volt meter.
Is there any way to test the TPS without the special tools?

What were your idle issues ? I'm curious because I had to replace my TPS connector recently because it was old and wires were damaged and the car was not working fine. However I have replaced it and my car is still not idling right.

The idle was constantly fluctuating between 1200 and 1400 rpms. I tested the tps and it was right on. I was able to get it mostly back to normal by following the throttle adjustment process in the above thread.
