Swap auto to 5 speed
Does anyone know what all would need to be changed to change an auto 93 FD to a 5 speed?(besides the obvious: tranny) From what i can tell i think all that i would have to change is the tranny, instrament cluster, center plastic (arround shifter). But i think that the computer might be different and also that the engine housing, and starter is also? Thats what im not sure about. I dont care about keeping the engine because it is blown. My plans for the car originaly was to put a ls1 in it but i dont have quite enough money at the time. This is just a thought, or i might just end up selling it and buying another FD already to go.
thanks

There's alot to it and it's already been covered in other threads..use search.
but fwiw the ecu can still be used with some rewireing... the cluster can also be reused... but there's master and slave cylinders to buy, tranny, fly wheel, clutch, clutch peddle assembly, counter weight, drive shaft, differential (which can possibly be reused I hear but the ratio of 3.9 blows), etc.... it all starts adding up... but if you can hold out and wait for good deals on here it can be done for relatively cheap... I'm in the process of doing it (cars getting rebuild from the frame up) so far I have about 600~700 into it, still need the clutch and peddels and flywheel though. Some will claim it's a 3k to 5k dollar thing to do... Mine will probably hit 1500 but I've been getting parts for about 6 months now.
