strange electrical problem

I need some help! Whenever I press the brake my dash lights come on. So when I press the brake the rear brake lights come on aswell as my dash cluster, center console and my aftermarket guages It's really annoying and i've taken out the dash and looked at the connections also checked under the dash for melted wires, any ideas?

You have a grounding issue if you didn't have this happen when installing the aftermarket gauges. If you turn on the parking lights does it still happen ? Has the car been in a wreck, larger tires installed recently ?

i don't think it's been in a wreck, same old tires. It still does the same thing when i turn the lights on. I'll check for grounding points. Thanks!

check your brake light bulbs, you might have a wrong bulb in (single element instead of dual) or you might have a bulb with a broken element.

This may sound like a silly question, but does the car have an after market front end or fog lamps?
